Where you’ll be

Somerset, England, United Kingdom

Langport is a tiny town with a big heart and heaps of history. It supports independent shops and services, and has great eco-credentials, with cafes and restaurants that range from quirky to trendy to traditional. There's a creative culture too, with workshops from printing to glass-blowing, drop-in dance classes and regular live music events, often with a vintage vibe. There's a monthly vintage and artisan markets and a weekly country market. People are friendly and very relaxed here, appreciating the incredible tranquility of the river being set right beside the convenience of a High Street. With various places to enjoy a pint or two of Somerset cider - including the famous Rose and Crown (or Eli's as it is locally known) - within walking distance, there's no need to worry about getting a taxi home either. It's also very dog friendly - lots of people here have dogs so they are welcome in most of the cafes and restaurants.
