COVID-19:

Due to the pandemic situation, Mouzinho 134 has implemented an internal protocol for the safety of everyone: you and your family, but also the health and safety of our staff and their families, as well as of other guests.

The internal protocol has measures for protection, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization and what to do in case of a suspected case.

Protection:

1 - All staff works always with the necessary protection equipment.

2- Masks are mandatory in all common areas of the building (if you don’t have one, we’ll be happy to provide at the cost of 1€/mask). Also, in many places of Portugal the use of masks indoors is also mandatory,

3- Hand sanitizers are available on all the buildings entrance. Please use them every time you enter the building

4 - To ensure proper cleaning and disinfection, we are no longer doing same day check in/out. Additionally, no early check ins or late check outs can be considered. This means that all check outs must be completed by 12:00 and that check ins cannot be done before 14:00.

5 - All apartments have soap dispensers; please wash your hands as soon as you enter the apartment.

6 - If there is any problem with the apartment that requires assistance from a member of our staff, we will only enter with your permission, and everyone in the same room has to wear a mask. When entering any apartment that is currently occupied, staff will be wearing a mask and dedicated shoes (hands will be disinfected just before entering the apartment).

- Inside the building, please do not linger in common areas longer than necessary. Please maintain social distancing and keep visits to your apartment to an absolute minimum.

8 - Consider leaving all shoes inside the apartment by the door.

Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization:

Although our cleaning standards in Mouzinho 134 have always been high, some cleaning procedures have been updated to comply with all the measures ordered by DGS (National Health Service), such as:

1- Common spaces of the buildings are cleaned and disinfected twice a day (morning and afternoon).

2- Weekly and check out apartment cleaning includes:

2.1 - bed linen and towels change (bed linen and towels are always washed at a temperature of 60ºC).

2.2 - cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces. The best disinfection product available is the common bleach and it will be used in most of the surfaces.

2.3 – full sterilization of the space with Ozone generator.

We can use ozone generators to disinfect indoor environments and ensure health and safety.

Ozone is one of the most powerful sterilizers, which kills bacteria, viruses, molds, and odors.

Ozone cleans up your space and finally reverts back to oxygen.

Rooms MUST be unoccupied while ozone generator is running.

Ozone sterilization works for all surfaces, including decorative pillows, walls, curtains and places that are difficult to access.

In the case of a weekly cleaning, guests can't be at the apartment during the entire process.

What to do in case of a suspected case:

If you or someone in your party becomes ill, we have a protocol in place to isolate the suspected case and help you as much as we can.

We have an isolation office in the first floor. To activate the protocol please contact us through the contacts provided upon your check in.

Please notice that in case of a positive test we’ll try to arrange an apartment in the same building for your isolation. The use of this apartment will be charged on a daily basis at the price of 90€/night

If the other members of your party need to have their stay extended, we will also charge that stay at the current rates.

The Mouzinho 134 building is located on the historical center of Oporto, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Center.

Due to its excellent location it has great accessibility, so you won’t have difficulty strolling around the city.

Just a 5 minute walk away, you can find São Bento’s train station, a taxi square and the subway station (São Bento – yellow line).

At the same distance you can find Oporto’s Downtown, the most vibrant place in the city.

There you can find countless shops that offer anything from traditional commerce to international brands and several art galleries exhibiting the works of some of the best Portuguese artists.

In Rua das Flores and Rua Trindade Coelho you can also find many jewelry shops.

There is a wide range of places to grab a snack in the middle of the day. We recommend Ateneia, Leitaria da Quinta do Paço and Majestic.

If you’re looking for nightlife, Galerias de Paris Street is a well known place where you can find some of the hottest spots in the city.

For lunch or dinner you can find a large offer that goes from the charming and family owned Infante Restaurant (3 min walk towards the river) to the trendy and michelin star awarded DOC.

Leaving from Mouzinho 134 on foot, there are several monuments to visit such as Palácio da Bolsa, S. Francisco Church or Clérigos Tower, all of them less than 15 minutes away, through the most distinctive and beautiful streets of Oporto.

If you continue towards Douro River, you’ll come to the Ribeira area, and crossing the gorgeous D. Luiz Bridge you’ll find the Porto Wine Cellars, where wine tasting and tours are available.

By train you can easily reach the beaches of Miramar (with a golf course), Aguda (small fishing harbor), Granja (with its sea water pool) and Espinho (with a casino, golf course and a large local fair on Mondays).

Mother and Son in Porto, Portugal - improving the art of hospitality Welcome to our self-catered apartments! Located on the historical center of Oporto, in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Center, you'll find a building that belongs to our family for four generations. After my mother (Lu'is grandmother) passed away in 2010 I inherited this building and found a really degraded space with a lot of structural problems and fierce tenants. Having one apartment vacant me and my sons decided to refurbish the entire apartment and prepare it with all the needed amenities for a modern and cozy experience. And we decided to rent it for tourists. The first of our apartments came to daylight in May 2012. Our yellow apartment. The experience was so overwhelming with massive bookings and great reviews that we decided to "tackle" the rest of the building. And so we did. In October 2012 the building went to major refurbishment works with all the structural, electricity, plumbing and communications being changed. We repaired all the commons spaces, painted all the walls and ceilings, changed the windows, repaired and changed the floors, changed all the bathrooms and kitchens while maintaining at the same time all the qualities that give this building it’s finesse. There wasn't a single square inch that we didn't touch! The rest of the apartments came to the market in June 2013 and the bookings went sky high! Right now we have 9 apartments: Blue (6 pax), Yellow (4 pax), Green (2 pax), Pink (2), Brown (2), Orange (2), White (2) , Grey (2) and Red (2) Again all the critics are excellent with major emphasis on the quality of the apartments and the warm welcomes that both I and my son Luís provide. This is a family business made with love and with respect for the guests that come here. We want you to feel at home in a foreign place and we like to consider you as more than guests. You are our friends that come to visit our beautiful city. Be prepared to a personalized check in, with our mostly enjoyed briefing on sightseeing, Oporto History and local tips!
