Morning and evening sun filter through the overhanging cedar boughs along the walkway. With cedar trees surrounding you, cedar planks below and cedar shingles above, there is comfort in being in a space made with natural materials. We've even found Canadian patio tiles made from recycled rubber.

Our 3 acre property is only a 25min. walk from Ganges. We nestled this clean and quaint cabin in its own cedar grove, separate from the main house. It was built with the style and feel of what we believe and love a home to be. With full breakfast.

The space

Your cozy and quiet cabin for two has beautiful natural lighting with a pine ceiling, cork floor and a high bed, overstuffed with feathers and crisp white linens. A dozen steps along the covered cedar boardwalk you'll find the sweetest no-flush toilet with a sink in its own solar-powered outbuilding. Your outdoor cast iron claw foot tub and wash basin are fully plumbed with hot and cold water.

Guest access

propane fireplace, cutlery/dishware/cutting board, kettle/teas, mini fridge, filtered drinking water, towels, books and games; also many walking paths and use of our kayak

Interaction with guests

We will try to greet you upon arrival, yet understand the value of complete privacy to come and go as you wish. If you need the scoop on local happenings or just to be pointed in the right direction, Tara, a longtime Islander, is happy to be your number one connection!

Other things to note

Our border collie/blue heeler, Canyon, will likely want to greet you as you drive in. He is gentle and friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Westover B&B. Tara was a fantastic host. She was flexible when our schedule changed, made some great recommendations for things to do around Salt Spring, the breakfasts were so tasty, and thoughtful touches made the place even more memorable. You really feel secluded, even though you are close to Ganges, and it is a great spot to relax. Taking a bath under the stars was unique and a real treat. We would definitely recommend Tara's place and hope to be back ourselves one day!

If you're up for a bucolic adventure - showers outside on the deck to the accompaniment of woodland birdsong - then this is the place for you. Great location, great hosts, great breakfasts.

Tara and Martin are very warm and generous hosts. The property and cabin make the perfect nook to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of a hot bath under the stars and a delicious breakfast on the deck in the morning. Tara is a great resource for sightseeing tips and restaurant suggestions. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and would love to come back someday!

Tara was an amazing host and gave great suggestions for the Island! My boyfriend and I had an amazing time exploring the Island and just relaxing in the cottage. The breakfast was amazing, such a nice perk. We will definitely be back!

Nothing but wonderful things to stay about Tara as a host and about this accommodation. First of all, the cabin itself is ADORABLE! The outdoor bathtub was my favourite. Loved the setting deep in the forest – made for some lovely mornings and evenings sitting in the Adirondack / Muskoka chairs on the porch. Tara was very communicative, made everything super easy, and was lovely to chat with when she brought breakfast in the morning. I didn't want to leave – and will definitely be back!

What a special place, my partner and I are already planning a return visit. The space was beautifully put together with though put into everything. Fresh flowers were there on arrival and the breakfasts were beyond amazing!

Tara and Martin were awesome hosts! The cabin was very private and we enjoyed cooking both nights on the grill and gazing at the stars from the outdoor tub. The breakfasts were amazing! We were treated to homemade blackberry pancakes, yogurt, fruit, granola and scones. As we were walk-ons for the ferry, we even got a ride back to the ferry terminal from Tara, which was very nice. We loved our stay and would love to visit again in the future!
