Description

The space

This listing is for 1 private bedroom with a queen bed and combination private bathroom as well as use of all common areas (Kitchen, living room, dining area, rear and rooftop deck and laundry area)

Guest access

Guests have access to their designated room and bathroom as well as all common areas: Kitchen, living room, dining area, rear and rooftop deck and laundry area.

Interaction with guests

I work a lot, but I try to get to the house several times a week to check on things and try to meet guests if I can or bring something new to the house or to swap out art. I do not live in the house personally, but I do live close by.

The neighbourhood

This home is NOT in a touristy part of Baltimore. The neighborhood is a mix of longtime home owners, working class folks, renters, doctors doing residencies, traveling nurses, graduates students doing internships etc. There is a lot of investment activity in the area and you'll find many homes are in some stage of renovation. If you are not comfortable in an urban environment, please do not stay here and then complain about it after the fact. Overall expect general urban living and all walks of life.

Getting around

There is public transportation abound in the area. Many locals use shuttles, bikes or just walk to where they need to get. The Johns Hopkins and Kennedy Krieger Medical campus is 2 blocks to the west, popular Patterson Park is just 4 blocks south and there are numerous places in close walking distance to eat at.

Other things to note

There is dedicated Wifi access in the home and all guests will be provided access information upon check-in.
PARKING- Plenty of FREE parking in front of our house and directly across the street. *Just be mindful of the alternating street cleaning times, as they will ticket. Also, there are several parking garages within a few blocks of the house if you prefer that alternative.

Very basic but clean accommodations perfectly located to JHU hospital. We could get from The apartment to the operation check in in 6 minutes door to door- which when you have a 6 am check in time is much appreciated. Comfy bed. there was a surprising amount of street / pedestrian noise the second night (a Monday) as well as the following morning. But all in all a great value.

Very convenient for Johns Hopkins. $7 uber ride to Inner Harbor. 10 min. walk to Charm City bus route. Clean row home. Comparable to a boarding house. 3 bedrooms that guests stay in by unlocking doors with a key in a keybox.

From the outside: Old Federal. Open the door and step in: Voila! The house has been completely modernized. Light and Heat are excellent. Kitchen is modern and host has generously made available utensils pots and pans, plates and drink vessels. Our bedroom was very comfortable. How nice to find the shower with just a 5-inch curb to step over. Plenty of hot water. We used Uber to get around. Average wait time is 3 minutes. Close to all Baltimore attractions.

If you are taking classes at JHSPH or doing a rotation at the hospital, this is the place to stay!

Dave's place was perfect. I had a large spacious room with my own bathroom, which was very convenient, and I had a very comfortable stay. The common areas including kitchen were also very clean and nice. Location was convenient for walking to Johns Hopkins hospital, but Uber was also very easy to use. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a really nice place! The neighborhood is very urban but tbh I never felt unsafe. The room is nice and clean and Dave is a very good host. The only problem that I faced was that the WiFi was not reliable but other than that I loved my stay!

Neighbourhood is urban (i.e. lower socioeconomic status). But the walk to the hospital is quick, and I didn't have any safe issues myself.
