Welcome to Skipping Rock. Located on the shore of Georgian Bay in the hamlet of Dyers Bay, Skipping Rock is a cozy cottage from which you can experience the varied natural wonders of the northern Bruce Peninsula. Paddle, swim, snorkel, hike, cycle, star-gaze or relax on the deck... there's so much to experience and enjoy on the Bruce. We hope you enjoy your stay and create wonderful memories in Dyers Bay.

Once your stay is reserved, you will be given a link to our very detailed cottage website.

The space
Skipping Rock is a three-season cottage in beautiful Dyers Bay available for weekly rentals from mid-June to mid-October.

The cottage sleeps up to four people (municipal occupancy limit) and has an open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen, two bedrooms and a four-piece washroom. Comforters, blankets and pillows are provided but please bring your own bed sheets, pillow cases, bath linens (face cloths and towels), kitchen linens (dish cloths and dish towels) and beach towels.

The cottage has over 100' of Georgian Bay shoreline with great views of Cabot Head and Cape Chin that can be enjoyed from either the upper or lower deck.

We're Susan and Will and we've vacationed on the peninsula since 1997. Whether we rented a cottage, camped at Cyprus Lake, or spent a night at a Bed and Breakfast, we always returned to the Bruce at least once a year. We really enjoyed renting Skipping Rock in 1998 and again in 2013 and were delighted to purchase the cottage in 2016. Since then we've renovated quite a bit - new roof, two decks, bathroom, lighting, electrical and mechanical systems, and updated the bedrooms.

Enjoy paddling the canoe (Old Town 158), kayak (Necky) and hybrid kayak/SUP (stand-up-paddleboard Ocean Kayak Nalu 11). There are also a few bicycles for use.

Guest access
The cottage has two parking spots by the cottage and two parking spots at the roadside.

Other things to note
Skipping Rock is a self-catering cottage. Comforters, blankets and pillows are provided. Guests are required to bring their own linens (bed sheets, pillow cases, face cloths, bath towels, dish cloths, dish towels and beach towels), paper products and toiletries.

***VERY IMPORTANT – You are responsible to thoroughly CLEAN the cottage at the end of your stay in preparation for the next guests. Essentially, you are required to leave the cottage in the same condition it was in when you arrived - clean and free of all garbage and recycling.***

We are available throughout your stay to make arrangements should anything go wrong with the cottage.

We are registered with the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, License # NBP-2021-476.

Neighbourhood highlights

Dyers Bay consists of a string of cottages on a road that runs along the shoreline as well as a few cottages higher up from the shore. Thankfully , development is limited because of the steep cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment that rise a short distance inland. The renowned Bruce Trail is within a short walk from the cottage. Dyers Bay is a truly charming place to slip into a simpler life.

My wife Susan and I love the great outdoors and appreciate the chance to get away from the noise and rush of urban life. We are canoe-trippers, hikers and renovators, not always in that order... we hope you enjoy Dyers Bay and the Bruce as much as we do.
