Travel advice for London (public transport and places of interest)

Beckenham has ancient roots dating back to Roman camps and is found in the medieval Domesday Book of 1086. It exploded in growth during the 19th century creating the beautiful Victorian center brimming with restaurants, pubs and cafes. This house was the former gatehouse of the local manor. The manor still exists and is now the center for the local public park and golf course ( (website hidden) "Glendale Golf Beckenham") and large parks behind our property. Easy access to central London. Wimbledon is close by.

Beckenham Junction station is ideally located with just 20 minutes by train to central London's Victoria Station (Buckingham Palace,Westminster,Harrods.). The house is a 5-10 minute walk to the trains and trams which can take you directly to all parts of London. Beckenham itself is located a few kilometers inside London's M25 ring road and the house has unlimited free parking.

The place is fairly central to Beckenham town of a 30min walk, but not a practical place with children.

Peter is a gentleman and a superb host, makes you feel at ease straight away. I just needed a bolt hole for a week for which the room served the purpose perfectly, would be ideal for a holiday to London also with fast transport nearby.

I have stayed at Peters twice, 10 days in total.Big airy rooms, nice big kitchen with tea and coffee. Clean bedding. This is all situated in a quiet part of town. Easy transportation & near the shops & high street. Will stay there again if & when the opportunity arises. Peter is also very friendly & approachable, no doubt he will assist with any queries within reason. I do recommend his place. Thank you Peter.

Dear Mr. Peter, We enjoyed staying in the accommodation. The place, the room, toilet and kitchen are very tidy and neat. We got everything available for cooking, eating, washing, sleeping. Peter's service was fantastic. His dealing with people and giving information were really helpful. We were so happy with his services and arrangements. If there were any problems he would get it fixed immediately. We recommend other people to come and enjoy a very good homely feeling in Peters accommodation. Best wishes to Mr. Peter. Thanks, Rejin and Parents
