Welcome to Columbus! My home features a modern, stylish, and open concept style living space that was built a few years ago in the Franklinton neighborhood. Centrally located, the house is just a mile and a half from downtown. There's a small market within a few blocks and groceries/pharmacy in the area. Please see the "other things to note" section below for more information and policies I am implementing during the Coronavirus outbreak to protect you, other guests, and myself.

The space
The house was built only three years ago and is a rare find for the area. The first house built by local architect, Jeremy A. Miller, 614 Magazine had this to say:

"(Miller's) new Franklinton home is just how he wants it: simple, open, spacious, and minimal, with high windows, higher ceilings, offering up tons of natural light. Standing atop the modish hardwood floors in the upstairs loft, you have ample view of the whole house—a kitchen dominated floor plan complete with stylized cement floors, all wrapped neatly inside a durable yet cost effective fiber cement siding."

On top of aesthetics, the home was also built with a secondary purpose. To record music. A large room built with acoustics in mind is found in the back part of the house and can be viewed through a window from the work area/control room next to the kitchen.

I recently bought the house from Jeremy. I am a musician and producer and use the space to live, rehearse, and record. I occupy one bedroom upstairs, and I AirBNB the two other bedrooms out as private rooms. Occasionally, I also AirBNB out the front part of the house to visitors as one space if I'm travelling for a long period of time. I will be on tour off and on this March and April.

Guest access
The bedroom is on the first floor and next to the first floor bathroom. The bedroom features a brand new pillow top mattress and sheets (none of this hand me-down guest bedroom stuff), mid-century furnishings, and a Roku TV with Netlflix, Amazon, and Hulu to keep you entertained during your stay.

The kitchen and common area are available to prepare and eat meals. Feel free to use any of the utensils and appliances in the kitchen. I'm a pretty avid coffee drinker, and have a machine, french press, and aero press along with an assortment of coffees and teas. Please see my policies concerning the Coronavirus outbreak in the "other things to note" section for more details on using the kitchen.

Laundry and Drying machines are available for use. I also have an iron, hairdryer, and steamer for anyone who might need one.

I am a musician and producer and work on music in the back part of the house, which is my studio. I'm usually in there working from around 10AM through the afternoon. I am more than happy to show you around, but ask that you do not go in there without my supervision.

Other things to note
The updstairs room is rented out to guests and they will be using the updstairs bathroom. While you may see each other, I ask you avoid socializing in the common areas and practice social distancing. Please only use the downstairs bathroom

I generally work on music in the back studio from 11AM till 3PM during the week, so please be aware of the potential for noise during these times.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

I just wanted to provide an update on things concerning COVID-19. This is an unprecedented time for our country and has presented many challenges in the AirBNB realm. Still, some people have unavoidable travel and need a place to stay. All we can do is do our best and follow the guidance of the state government and any policies put in place.
The goal right now is to practice social distancing and reduce transmission as much as possible. Reducing transmission is also my goal and I will always hold that above profit. Please communicate with me openly and clearly, and know that I am being very flexible when it comes to cancellations and refunds in the event of illness. To help reduce the risk of transmission during your stay, I have a few things to let you know and some policies I am implementing that will remain in effect until further notice.

1. I rent out two bedrooms. One upstairs, and one downstairs. Each floor has it’s own bathroom, so this will help avoiding cross-contamination with any other guests.
2. I do have a bedroom upstairs, but will most likely be staying at my girlfriend’s place during this time to help reduce interaction. I may be back during the day to work on projects in the studio, but will keep to the back studio and office off the kitchen. I am requesting guests to stay out of these areas during their stay. I may use the toilet downstairs once in a while, but will thoroughly wipe things down after use. I will be showering at my girlfriend’s place.
3. During your stay, please keep to your room as much as possible. You are still free to use the kitchen to make and eat meals. I would ask that you do not hang out in this area beyond those functions.
4. After using the kitchen, please do the following:
A) WASH ALL DISHES IMMEDIATELY - wash all dishes thoroughly and immediately after use. Place them in the drying rack. I will re-wash the dishes in the drying rack when I am home and place them back to ensure everything has been washed properly for other guests. I am asking you to wash them first to help prevent any potential transmission to myself.
B) WIPE THE KITCHEN DOWN - I will leave some disinfecting wipes out, and ask that you please wipe down any surface you use after using the kitchen. These wipes are for use in the house ONLY. Please do not take them as I will charge $75 if the pack is missing.
5. When checking out, I am now asking guests to place all sheets and towels in the washer and trash bags in the room in the trash in the kitchen. When I return home I will turn the washer on, take out the trash, and disinfect the house/room for the next guest.
6. If you are sick or have interacted with anyone sick, please stay home. You may cancel your reservation penalty free and for a full refund, no questions asked.

Please reach out if you have any other concerns or questions. Thank you.
