While a coastal getaway might be just what you need right now, as you consider your trip to MidCoast please take note of Governor Mills' current quarantine policy. We want your trip to be relaxing and healthy!

Entirely refurnished in 2019, we would like to welcome you to our Guesthouse at Owls Head. Ideally located a short walk from the lighthouse and harbor, our Guesthouse is both serenely private and conveniently accessible for exploring the beauty and culture of MidCoast Maine.

The space
Located a block from the Owls Head Harbor, this charming, newly upgraded Guesthouse is the perfect place to discover all that MidCoast Maine has to offer. The Guesthouse is a short walk to the harbor, public water access, lighthouse and beach. Staying at the Guesthouse at Owls Head provides for easy access to swimming, kayaking, hiking, shopping, and the many other adventures in the region. It is private and quiet, and makes a pet-friendly, comfortable and convenient base from which to explore Maine's spectacular MidCoast.

The first floor of the Guesthouse serves as an entry, mudroom, laundry and bonus sleeping and sitting area. It has been recently renovated to provide guests access to their own wash/dryer, work area and private yard. There is a flat-screen TV in the sitting area as well, but please note this amenity is provided primarily for DVD playing or streaming from one's laptop (we do not have cable or an over-air broadcast antenna). We provide a long-length HDMI cord for your use, but please be sure to bring any necessary adapters if your laptop does not have an HDMI port.

The main living space in the Guesthouse is on the second floor. It has been entirely refurnished with an eye for comfort and coastal style. The queen size bed has luxury linens, a hotel grade mattress and a Maine-made quilt! There are two sitting areas, a kitchen with all the essentials (including full size appliances, coffee maker, cookware, microwave, etc), and a bathroom with shower, blowdryer, iron, and plush towels. Outside, there is a private yard with outdoor furniture for late day lounging. A grill can be made available for cookouts upon request. Paper products and other household necessities that you might need will be made available to get you started with you stay.

Free guest Wi-fi is available. While there is not cable service at the Guesthouse, you will find a TV and DVD player. You are welcome to connect, stream or cast your favorite internet entertainment. We also have a small library of DVD movies available. We are able to provide beach chairs and towels for use during your stay. Just ask the hosts!

The Guesthouse is part of our larger property, and the caretakers live on-site in the main house. They are available at any point during your stay to provide assistance, guidance and suggestions on the best sunset lobster dinner on the MidCoast!

Guest access
The entire Guesthouse is for the exclusive use of the guests with the exception of the garage space. There is a rear yard with seating that is also for guest use. A separate, small studio can be made available for artists staying on the property. The studio has heat and water. It is available for an additional fee.

Other things to note
Well behaved dogs are welcome at our Guesthouse. We ask that owners respect the gardens and clean up after their pet. Dogs are not allowed on furniture, but we would be happy to provide your pup with a bed. Please give us a heads up if you are bringing your furry family member.

We are unable to accommodate cats. Our hostess is highly allergic!

Due to our rural location, we cannot accommodate more than three guests during a stay. A stressed septic system leads to other stresses! Thank you for understanding and limiting your reservation to three guests over the age of 12 yrs.

There is no smoking of any kind allowed in or around the Guesthouse, including vaping.

Location

Owls Head, Maine, United States

Tucked along the Maine coastline, Owls Head is a picturesque village with a working waterfront and lighthouse. It is quintessential coastal Maine, centrally located for easy day trips to many vibrant harbor towns including: Belfast, Camden, Rockland, Wiscasset, Brunswick, Bath, and Damariscotta. On our own peninsula, St. George's, we have several sandy beaches within 5 minutes, including Crescent and Birch Point. Picturesque Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde are less than 30 minutes providing ferry access to Monhegan Island, where the Wyeth family painted avidly. A 30 minute drive in the other direction will bring you to the Camden Hills and a day of spectacular hiking with breathtaking views of the Bay and beyond. On a clear day you will see to Acadia!

History can be discovered everywhere on the MidCoast from the Farnsworth Art Museum to the Maritime and Transportation museums. Schooner sails, puffin tours, ferry routes to the islands, are all within a 15 minute drive of the Guesthouse. If we haven't touched on your interests or filled your vacation itinerary, we look forward to sharing more of our favorite MidCoast scenes.
