Where you’ll be

Tiong Bahru/Outram Park, Singapore

An ideal neighbourhood for families and culture vultures, the Tiong Bahru area has been increasingly popular amongst younger generation and the reason is clear. The lovely neighbourhood is one of the oldest residential estate in Singapore which has architectures before the world war 2. There are many elements which speaks volumes of Singapore Chinese heritage, such as the road names, which are the names of Chinese pioneers of the 19th and early 20th century, the hispter cafes in old shophouses and overal tranquility of an aged neighbourhood.

FOOD
A cultural neighbourhood is defintely going to be a haven for traditional eats, which Singapore is already famous for. Here's a leaf taken out of a gourmet's book, the local delicacies one can find and should consume in Tiong Bahru:
- Bincho at Hua Bee (78 Moh Guan Terrace)
- Joe’s Thai Kitchen (125 Bukit Merah Lane 1)
- Flock Cafe (78 Moh Guan Terrace)
- Tiong Bahru Bakery (56 Eng Soon Road)
- Drips Bakery (82 Tiong Poh Road)
- Lele Pot (58 Seng Poh Road)
- Whisk Cafe (58 Seng Poh Road)
- Beo Crescent Market
- Tiong Bahru Food Centre

SIGHTS
The Tiong Bahru estate is known for the beautifully hand drawn murals. You can go on a wall mural hunt, and locate the different wall murals around the neighbourhood, they are inspired from childhool memories and nostalgia, and depicts the lives of residents in the 80s and 90s. Also, you can check out and experience Singapore's last remaining pre-war air raid bunker, located at 78 Guan Chuan Street.

LEISURE
As the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood are old estates, it is relatively slower pace and serene as compared to the other parts of Singapore. To unwind after a long day, the shop houses near Tiong Bahru Market has laidback and quiet restaurants and bars. Such as:
- Potion Bistro & Bar
- Lin Rooftop Bar
- Bakalaki Greek Taverna
