The space
Welcome to Sweet Rock Ranch! Situated among six acres of stunning boulder landscape at the end of a dirt road, the house and two sleeping cabins can comfortably sleep ten guests.

The main house has three bedrooms (king + 2 queens), two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, and separate dining room that seats ten. One of the two private sleeping cabins is the original homestead house. It is the oldest building in the area, remodeled as a sleeping cabin with a queen bed. The cozy Bunkhouse cabin has a double bed.

Outside, enjoy the back porch, the 'lookout lounge' which overlooks the town of Joshua Tree and the national park, a hot tub, a cowboy tub, a yoga deck, a horseshoe pit, a barbecue, great hangout spots, and more boulder piles than you can explore in a weekend.

Just off the back porch is over 200 acres of pristine desert for you to explore. Nothing but boulders, Joshua trees, wildlife . . . and silence!

A scenic walking bridge takes you to a six person hot tub surrounded by boulders - a stargazer's dream!

Guest access
We are uniquely situated between the National Park entrance in JT and Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown - the best daytime and nighttime activities the high desert has to offer.

Or. . . you may decide you don't want to leave Sweet Rock at all!

Other things to note
The house is designed comfortably rustic, with a nice representation of work from local artists. The main house has central AC & heat, plus an evaporative (swamp) cooler. The cabins both have heat & A/C.

Every window on the property has a view to other-worldly ancient rock formations.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located at the end of a dirt road in a sparsely populated spot on the edge of Yucca Valley, with an elevated view of the town of Joshua Tree and the Park.

We like to think of our neighborhood as the countless boulder piles and joshua trees, and the desert wildlife as our neighbors.

Lives in Los Angeles, California
As longtime desert enthusiasts, we stayed at many rentals in the area and noted the many things that we appreciate in a good rental experience. We spent over two years searching for the perfect spot, and then developed and nurtured this uniquely wonderful property to make a sublime desert experience for our guests. We divide our time between the desert and Los Angeles, where we both work in the arts. We have travelled around the world, but it's the hi-desert that keeps calling us back.
