The space

Clean, very quiet, and safe neighbourhood.

Interaction with guests

I greet my guests and welcome them into my home. We share the living quarters, but I give them to have the space they may want or need. Some guests may be more social, and we interact more. I do have company over from time to time for BBQ or coffee, and I always okay that, prior with the guests if they mind people over, and vise versa. They are always welcome to join in for visiting with company.

Other things to note

Many tourists come to La Ronge for the nature, hiking, hunting, and fishing. There is a provincial campground 1 km from town, where you can camp right on the Lake. However, there are many other numerous camp grounds in the areas to stay and fish. There are also many fishing lodges, and canoe outfitters in the area. Great local store for purchasing local & authentic all hand made local Native American arts such as carvings, bitch bark biting, moccasins, mukluks, mitts, and various beading, many in Moose hyde. Also find specialty foods such as, muskox meats and locally farmed wild rice. Local canoe outfitters, and tourism booth can show you canoe routes, or boat rentals to see ancient Native American rock paintings. Also in the area are the Nipekamew Sand Cliff, Nistowyak Falls, and National Historic Site of Canada - Holy Trinity Church in Stanley Mission, over 150 years old. Float plane charters, and scenic helicopter rides are also available in the area. Every year, International dog sled races are held here in February . Local tourism business will also take you on an expedition-style adventure any time in the winter by dog sled, or allow you to drive your own dog team.

Charlene makes it easy for you. Regardless of your question, she will be always quick to respond and help you. The welcoming aspect of the stay is already felt when you chat with her before coming to her place. She also dedicated herself to recommending some key parts of her area. It's enlightening for someone that is not from the locality. Definitely a person you want to meet :)

Charlene is a great host. She is warm and welcoming! I stayed with her for 2 weeks and right from the beginning it felt like we had been room mates for months! Her place is beautiful, her cat is adorable and she has so much knowledge of the area. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Charlene was a FANTASTIC host! She bent over backwards to make sure that we had a good stay. When things came up, she was very communicative and gave us a heads up - she always kept us in the loop. Upon arrival, she gave us a quick tour then pretty much left us to our own devices while always making herself available to us if we needed it. Charlene was very accommodating and I would certainly recommend staying with her. The common areas were very clean, and she gave us free use of her kitchen. This was one of my favorite places to stay, and if I am ever up in La Ronge again, I wouldn't hesitate to book with her again!

I had a comfortable two night stay. Charlene was a very gracious host, giving me full access to her home. I barely saw her other than when I arrived. It was conveniently located, just two blocks off the highway. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to other travellers.

I live in a small village in northern Saskatchewan, Canada working as College Instructor. I teach Early Childhood Education, Computers, plus other subjects such as math, technical writing and any thing else they assign me. I also love to dance and teach dance lessons in my spare time. I grew up living mostly on the southern prairies of Saskatchewan and Manitoba in Canada which is very agricultural. Now I live in the northern parts of Saskatchewan, which is very beautiful with many lakes, fishing, trapping, hunting, and rich in Aboriginal culture and history. Since being a teacher, most of my summers are spent living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but have lived a short time in Quebec and Vancouver also. I am well traveled, having extensively traveled Canada, most of its major cities, parts of the USA such as San Diego, Minneapolis, New York, and various Countries in Europe - France, Czech, Netherlands, Spain, and Germany. I volunteered twice to teach English in Western, and Southern Spain. I have also traveled and studied dance in Indonesia, and vacationed in Mexico. I'm also a qualified Hatha Yoga instructor. My passions are travelling, teaching and living a healthy life style! I love to meet people from all over the world and really enjoy learning about different cultures and trying new foods. I also really enjoy cooking and like to learn new recipes. You'll find me very open minded, and laid back.

Stayed with Charlene - Positive

Charlene is really nice and friendly. She is open-minded, is a very interesting person and she has a funny cat. She invited me and hosted me for 9 days. Charlene was an amazing host.
I felt me very welcome. I was more than only a traveler, I felt me more like a good, old friend, who came to visit her.
I enjoyed my staying in La Ronge and really I like the people, who I met (I met a lot of people in La Ronge) and I enjoyed my visit at Charlene's workplace. In addition I had many new experiences.
There is a lot of things to do, if you like the nature (I did a lot of things). It was my pleasure to meet Charlene, her family and her friends. Thanks a lot for everything, particularly for your patience.
Hopefully I see you again.
