Chad is a very kind and attentive host. I had an easy time communicating with her. The location is safe and close to public transit. It took me about 40 minutes to get into Lower Manhattan. The only downside was the Thai couple who lived in the next room. I did not know that they would be there until I arrived, as it was not in the listing description. I had issues with them in terms of noise, but Chad helped me solve our problems with one another. Other than that, I think this is a good value place to stay for those travelers on a budget.

The neighborhood was nice, it took about 35 min to get to Mahattan. The room was comfy and clean, as were the kitchen and bathroom. It was sometimes akward talking to her roomate. Communicating with her was difficult at times. Apart from that, the advert was accurate. The location, ideal, as it was really close to the subway. Convenient for a short period of time.

Chad gave us a nice welcome and a quick guide to the neighbourhood. After that she left us to our own devices. It's not very close to the attractions of Manhattan but the subway station is only a few mins walk away and the A Train will get you into the heart of the city in less than an hour. The room is quite small for two people and the beds could be better but as a base to explore NYC it's good for the price and I'd recommend it for those on a budget.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. Quick and easy check in process. I really wasn't around much of the 5 nights I stayed as I was visiting the city. Subway and food outlets located within walking minutes. I left early in the AM on check out day, just left my set of keys in the bed and walked out. The only down part was that the room window had no curtain, which meant no privacy :(. On my final night the room light went out and would work. Had to pack in the dark.

The host was very nice in the beginning. Later we saw cockroaches, about three in total. She said she didn't have one and we believed her because she was very scared too. But then she started to blame us, as if we brought them into her house. We are from Boston, we never saw any in real life before. That was absolutely rude and unacceptable. But then she offered us to pay for us for another airbnb, we decided which one, what was super nice. But she threatened us that if we already would have called or texted Airbnb she wouldn't do that. When we left she blamed us again and we were so angry again. We really didn't expect for be treated like that. Her boyfriend walked around in just an underwear what was also very inappropriate and it was super super hot. But for an extra charge we became the A/C (even though we just had it for one afternoon). We were two 20 year old girls and we let so uncomfortable in that neighborhood. We didn't want to go outside without pepper spray. We just saw good reviews about her and her apartment and we don't wanna make everything bad but how she blamed us, even at the last day, we decided to write this review just to be honest with out stay. Hope no one will have the same experience again.
