The Dragonfly sits secluded in fresh country air. This extremely cute 1967 vintage 12 ft camper has what you need to relax & slow down - hiking trails on 85 wooded acres, fishing pond, fire pit with load of wood & roasting sticks, hammock, picnic table, swings & seesaws. Air conditioning/heat, microwave, small fridge, vintage gas stove, hardwood floors, indoor bathroom with shower, plus rain head outdoor shower. Muffins, cookies, fruit, milk, juice, coffee, & tea provided 1st day of stay.

The space
This cozy camper is tucked in the woods and perfect for 2 adults and/or small child. The dining table and cushions convert into a single bed and the back sofa converts into a small double bed. Your linens include fresh white sheets dried in the country sunshine, crisply ironed pretty vintage pillow cases, towels & washcloths, blankets and pillows. The kitchen area is stocked with dishes, silverware, cookware, bakeware, toaster, microwave, stove, little fridge with ice cubes, cooking oil, salt/pepper, catsup/mustard, sugar, and butter. A butane burner is also provided for cooking fish or bacon outdoors. A record player & vinyl records, croquet set, board games, coloring sheets, binoculars, bug spray, fishing poles, bait and tackle box are provided.

Get back to your roots with old fashioned fun and plenty of nature to explore. Read a book in the hammock, hike the 85 acres of woods, fish the pond or just enjoy the water in the cedar chairs. Listen to the hoot owls and croaking frogs at night while star gazing by the crackling fire. There is no phone or internet service but you will have access one mile up the road. I share a right-of-way gravel lane with my neighbors who are far enough away to not be seen but you may occasionally hear the hum of a distant lawn mower.

Where you’ll be

I have a house manual with locations and estimated miles from the Dragonfly to the many local state parks, places to hike, unique eating places, churches and antique shops. You can experience climbing a close by fire tower with gorgeous countryside views , picking blueberries, visiting an old order Mennonite grocery store, county fair, petting zoo, water park, tiger sanctuary, race track, family fun center, golfing, scuba diving in a mine, and rodeos. Johnson Shut-Ins and Elephant Rocks State Park are nearby popular tourist attractions. My favorite nearby beautiful secluded nature spots include Pickle Springs and Hickory Canyons.

I live 8 miles out in the beautiful countryside of Missouri. I'm a country girl at heart and enjoy sharing my very cute 1967 vintage camper with guests from all over. I like meeting new people and hospitality is one of my strengths.

During your stay

I will be available most of the time at my house right across the small pond to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
