We stayed for 3 nights over an Easter weekend as a quiet retreat by the sea. The pictures do not do the views justice - they are simply stunning. Binoculars in the rooms let you spy on passing yachts, and the terrace is a great suntrap in the morning and lunchtime. The coastal path is just below, allowing you to walk up and down the coast for miles. You can also hear the sea lapping on the beach as you sleep. There is a very easy to use log burner in the living room for chilly evenings, and a fine selection of DVDs and CDs to put on. Everything is super clean, modern, and well appointed - from the huge rainfall shower room to the new kitchen appliances. Nic was very helpful with information provided, and checking in and out was super easy and straightforward. All in, a fantastic romantic retreat by the sea, well recommended!

Delightful dwelling high on the cliff overlooking the shingle beach, which is not accessible from the property, but very tempting. Nick has a very well equipped house which we thoroughly enjoyed for a few days peace.

The views from the property are just incredible, it is so peaceful and being able to hear the waves when lying in bed is a unique experience. There are lots of cosy places to sit with a blanket and look out on the sea. A very short walk to be on the beach. I really recommend staying here to everyone - I really hope to return.

We had a wonderful few days in mid-January at Nick's seaside cottage. From the outset, Nick was incredibly helpful and shared some great tips with us when we arrived. The place was clean and tidy and had a very welcoming feel to it. The house was lovely and modern (LOVED having a dishwasher on holiday :)), but at the same time the wood burner made it feel very cosy. The view is incredible! You can lose time just staring up the amazing coastline and out to sea. Nick has a great seating area set up outside the cottage where the sights can be taken in whilst enjoying a glass of wine. What we liked was that it was on a bus route (probably the most scenic one we've been on) that goes from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth, which meant we could go out for dinner in Dartmouth and both have a drink. We wouldn't hesitate to return, or recommend it to other people.

So pleased that you and Peter had such a pleasant few days, and that the weather was kind. It sounds to me like you will be spending more and more time in the South Hams in the future!

We have just returned from a week away in Nick's cosy cottage in Strete. The photos truly do not capture the magic of the wonderful location. Uninterrupted views of the beach and the sea-it must be out of this world in summer! Private terrace, sun loungers and barbecue all waiting for the warmer weather! Everything we needed was provided and Nick was a perfect host-very friendly and most helpful. We truly can't recommend Nick's house highly enough if you want pure escapism and relaxation. The location is superb, close to both Dartmouth and Salcombe-2 fabulous towns with lots of brilliant restaurants. All in all, if you are looking for peace, total privacy and tranquillity, yet still be close to 'civilisation', you truly will love Nick's cottage.

We had an amazing time staying at this cottage over Christmas. From the moment that we arrived the place was warm & cosy; straightaway we felt at home there. The location was great for the Coastal Path and lots of little villages along the way - we had some great food (particularly fish) at nearby eateries despite it being off-season. As well as walking there was lots to do in nearby towns. And it was great to come back to the sanctuary of the cottage each evening and curl up in front of the fire!
