Irmak was a fantastic host, and we thoroughly enjoyed staying in her flat. The apartment is conveniently located in one of Istanbul's chicest residential areas, Nisantasi, in the basement of a nice old building. Prime location for cafes/brunch spots, small bakeries, grocery stores, but also a heaven for luxury shoppers. Having been to Istanbul before, I must admit Nisantasi was a better choice than the very touristy areas around Taksim or Sultanahmet. There were dolmus buses and taxis just round the corner from the street we stayed, which made it easy for us to commute to all the places we wanted to visit. The flat itself - exactly what you see in the photos, and more. Clean, super cozy & homey, warm (mind you, we visited Istanbul at he end of December 2014, so the warmth was well needed), with everything necessary made available for our 4-day trip. It was definitely spacious enough for two people, and the way the flat is organised makes it very liveable. It really felt like home, and the flat has a lot of personality: family photos, nice artsy touches here and there, hand-crafted antique furniture, they all make for a vintage-y and boutique-y feel. Bonus points for the nice Christmas tree waiting for us in the living room, which made the whole atmosphere feel even more like holiday. Though we haven't met Irmak, she has been a great host and arranged for us to pick up the key from someone. Flexible, very accommodating and willing to share tips and recommendations about restaurants and places to see in Istanbul, Irmak was always available to chat and responded promptly when we had any queries. Highly recommended place for travellers who enjoy a clean, cosy flat with plenty of personality, in a nice quiet neighbourhood.

I had a very nice experience staying at Irmak's apartment in October 2014. The apartment is decorated with a good taste and meets the expectations (the only surprise was the basement floor which makes it a bit dark and cold but is compensated by a warm atmosphere created by the owner). Irmak is by all means a great, responsive and generous guest, who welcomed me with fresh fruits in the kitchen and a small orientation tour around Nisantasi.
