My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Michelle's condo. Michelle responded to all my questions right away, and once we arrived, there was a lovely concierge who met us when with the keys and was available for all our questions. It's a large space, centrally located in Marigot, very close to many shops and restaurants. The view is stunning and you'll enjoy a gorgeous sunset every night over the bay. It's very safe, with double deadlocks and a gate into the building that closes at night with access only by key. That said, be cautious of your things when out and about. The kitchen is very well-equipped. The free wifi works well. There is no phone in the condo, so having Verizon travel pass so we could use our cells was very helpful. The condo also has booklets with lots of restaurant, beach, and tourist recommendations that we found helpful.
There are only two towels per person for the week, which was plenty for us, but if you tend to take a lot of showers or like to have fresh towels more often, you might want to bring one. There is an adapter, if your electronics are from the U.S., but I would bring one with you so you can plug in more than one thing at a time. I would also rent a car for the week - talk to the concierge for a recommendation. We rented from a place called Escale that came and picked us up, took us to the car, and then let us take the car to the airport, and it was a very reasonable price for the week. A car is nice to have so you can get to the various beaches (there is not a beach in walking distance of the condo), restaurants in Grand Case and Philipsburg, kayacking, larger grocery stores, etc.
If you're debating between the Dutch and French sides, it depends on what you like. I much prefer the French side because it's more quiet, rustic, and authentic. And the food is amazing (especially in Grand Case). The Dutch side is full of tourists from cruise ships, casinos, big hotels, tourist shops, etc.
Compared to the cost of a hotel, Michelle's was much cheaper and very comfortable and convenient. It was nice to be able to wake up and make coffee and breakfast to enjoy on the terrace every morning, instead of having to eat every meal out. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone going to St. Martin!
