The space

As you have probably already noticed this is not a typical Airbnb listing. It's a unique living, stay-over museum. An homage to a Yugoslav mid-century modern furniture and industrial design. Every piece is a authentic from a period and Made in Yugoslavia which defines this place as a museum and a curated exhibition which gives an a unique opportunity to go back in time. Every detail was thoughtfully presented and displayed.

It is a collection of Yugoslav mid-century furniture as well as a home decorations, books, magazines, memorabilia, etc. from the period. Everything, apart from beds, is a Made in Yugoslavia and a true homage to vintage, retro and mid-century providing a unique experience of a authentic Yugoslav home and for that reason this place is called Yugodom ('Yugo', short for Yugoslavia, and 'dom' meaning home in Serbian).

A big inspiration in creating this place was a Yugoslav cinematography. Each room is homage to a different decade of the era so there is a 1960's bedroom tribute to films of that decade. Master bedroom is dedicated to 1970's movies and living room pays tribute to the 1980's.

Special attention is devoted to light design – vintage chandeliers intensity of light is regulated by dimmer and every room has 3-4 table lamps too, so you can create a perfect atmosphere during the evenings.

Apart from the historical, design and artistic aspect of the space, we take equal care of the comfort of our guests and in that sense we keep it very modern:
-authentic vintage mid-century modern furniture & decor
-high speed wi-fi

-bed has set of 4 pillows
-pure cotton bedding
-light weight comforter
-100% cotton towels

Mario's apartment is absolutely gorgeous and in one of the best locations in Belgrade! We loved it and hope to return. Beautifully furnished and appointed, with one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in.

This is the quintessential place to stay in Belgrade. The apartment is tastefully designed with Mid century modern and vintage touches. You will feel like you are truly stepping back in time in this beautiful place. The location is ideal. So many cozy and trendy cafes and bars to walk to. A huge bonus is the big farmers market a few minutes walk away. This neighborhood is quiet while having so much going on. I could walk all over the city and was always so happy to return to the Yugodom. Mario is very friendly and made my stay go so smoothly helping me with easy transport to and from the airport along with clear and prompt communication. The place is a great value and very unique. When you come to Belgrade, this is the place to stay. Will be back!!

The host was friendly, professional and informative. Communicated in advance regarding arrival times etc... which was good. Showed us around the apartment and highlighted places to eat and drink etc... around the local area. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Only stayed one night so did not use the kitchen but was clean and well equipped . My only problem is that I nearly slipped once in the bath and my colleague twice. The bath is quite high way more than normal and for some this could be a hazard. I would suggest a anti slip Matt. Over than that all good

Mario was a great host and met us at the apartment. He provided some good insight for restaurants and walking around our last night in Belgrade. The place itself is incredible - the Yugoslavian retro decor is cool and the apartment has all the amenities you need. The location is perfect for going out and walking to whatever you need. The Baljoni market is across the street which has fresh produce and cheap food. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a weekend in Belgrade. We booked it for the "Yugodom" furnishing and decorations (which were as great as pictures!) l - and were pleasantly surprised to also find it was so centrally located. Just around the corner from Skadarlija and a row of bar / restaurants, as well as the nightlife in Cetinjska. Highly recommended!

Want to be immersed in a living museum? This is it! I loved getting to call Mario's Yugodom home for a week while I visited Belgrade for work. The photos are exactly what it feels like inside and the building is clean and walkable to everywhere! I was surprised just how close everything feels here! Lots of great cafes and restaurants within a stones throw! The saving grace was that there was an air conditioner, because in the summer it get's pretty warm there! Mario was a great host, arranging transportation to and from the airport and providing quick communication through my stay.

Wow! Yugodom is awesome and a truly unique AirBnb. If you want to visit the former capital of Yugoslavia, you MUST stay here. It's like living in a museum filled or time capsule while having all of the modern amenities. The location is perfect - right around the corner (two minute walk) is the "bohemian street"with cobbled stone streets and lovely restaurants/bars. The street the apartment is on has blocks of trendy and delicious bars and restaurants. The train station is close and the fortress is a 15 minute walk through town. Go 15 minutes in the other site and you see the beautiful Assembly Building. The apartments itself is very comfortable and unique. The beds and couches are very comfortable. The deep bathtub is to die for! And the balcony is perfect for having your morning coffee and people watching. The owner Mario is very communicative and a wonderful host. If you are looking for a Belgrade home away from home, stay at Yugodom!
