Heartstone Mountain Retreat is a 10 acre property with two homes. The Birdhouse is perfect for guests who want to get away from everything & relax. We call it the Birdhouse because of the abundant birds and other wild life. It is frequented by members of the Audubon society and hikers. The property abuts National Forest, and is extremely secluded. Two kayaks available for use at Parker Canyon Lake.

The space

The Bird House is unique because of it's serene sense of tranquility. When you stay here, you will feel connected with the nature that surrounds you.

You can hike, mountain bike, fish and relax! The property is located on migratory bird paths too.

This house includes every ammenity and is very comfortable. There's a library, puzzles, solar powered radio and fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with gas stove, full sized fridge, toaster oven, microwave, crock pot and pots & pans. Plates, glasses, silverware and other kitchen necessities are also available. Couches in the living room are comfy enough for additional individuals that wish to spend the night.

The nearest store is approximately 45 minutes away, so be sure to pack plenty of food and fill up with gasoline.

Upon leaving the property, guests must clean up after themselves and take trash with them. "You hike it in, you hike it out", applies at the Bird House. This allows us to keep the rental cost affordable.

Please remember to sign our guest book and share your experience!

Guest access

Check in at the Bird House is at 2pm. Guests are expected to checkout at noon.

Upon confirmation of payment, Air BnB will send you the House Manual with key box code. You will also receive detailed directions on how to get to the property.

Interaction with guests

A Ranch Supervisor, David, lives on the property. He is available to acquaint guests with the property and make sure you get settled in. After that, it's up to you how much interaction you wish to have with David. Please know, he is there to help you 24/7, so please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything.

Other things to note

This property deserves to be loved by all!

Great location, peaceful and relaxing, plenty to see if you like biking or hiking. We've been to this place before and would come back again. The perfect getaway for Tucson folks, or anyone wanting to experience the splendor of Lyle Canyon and all it has to offer. Thanks again for being a gracious host, Jo!

The master bedroom light on the ceiling light burned out during our stay. Otherwise, found no problems. If I were to book your place again, I would prefer not to book your place through Airbnd.

It is a great place to watch birds and animals. Several deer and squirrels came up to visit us. You can get to Parker lake in about 30 minutes.

The Birdhouse is peaceful and birds visit the many feeders throughout the day. National Forest backs the house which is a plus! The entire property is nice and spacious. Jo had great communication through the entire process. Caretaker David was kind and generous. The main bathroom was not cleaned when we arrived, so my wife cleaned the shower.

Jackie was great pre-trip, and with directions when we got lost. David was terrific on site. Helped with luggage and heavy ice chest. No one could have been any nicer. Excellent place, and we expect to be back from time to time. P.S. We even got a white Christmas.

If you are looking for complete peace and quiet this is the place for you. But if you want cell service or internet forget it. Need to plan ahead and bring food because there is nothing close.
