We spent 4 very happy weeks in the apartment, which was a wonderful base for our holiday in Cape Town. The location is superb, and is in safe walking distance to the Long and Bree St cafe / bar precincts and the Waterfront. It's right in the middle of De Waterkant so cafes, restaurants, bars, gyms and supermarkets are all extremely close. MyCiti bus stops are close by. The apartment itself is well equipped for an extended stay, with simple kitchen, a lovely living area and a clean and modern bathroom along with regular cleaning. Best of all is a huge balcony with an outstanding view of the City Bowl and Table Mountain. The wireless internet, while occasionally slow, was reliable, and the 24 hour security guards friendly and a welcoming presence. While there is no air conditioning, there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a portable fan in the lounge room, which was sufficient to keep things comfortable. With the bedroom windows open and curtains drawn it can be loud, but this is to be expected given the location and is the price to pay for being in the heart of urban Cape Town; and once windows and curtains were closed noise wasn't a problem. The Fireman's Arms pub at the bottom of the building is a great way to meet the locals and experience non-touristy Cape Town. All in all, it's a great apartment in a wonderful and safe location and I hope it's available next time I'm in Cape Town.
