The town of Taos is 15 minutes away, offering coffee shops, fine dining, galleries, shops, theater, movies, museums, friendly folks and lots more .....

Guest access

Guests will have the entire house and the garden and yard to themselves.

Interaction with guests

Usually not at all or very little, depending upon the guest, i respect your privacy and want to be available should you need anything.

The neighbourhood

I love my neighborhood, it is very quiet and the views are fantastic. I seldom have any interaction with neighbors, as everyone appreciates their privacy, but they are great folks to spend time with.
i walk daily on the road and in the arroyo behind the house, and there are many trails within minutes of my location.....then Arroyo Seco is just a few minutes drive or bike ride from the house too. it is a small village with shops, restaurants, galleries and plenty of charm...
the valley where i live is still very quiet and mostly undisturbed, giving you a sense of what Northern New Mexico was like hundreds of years ago!
there are lots of birds and some wildlife to be seen.

Getting around

Not really, although there is a public bus that travels to the Taos Ski Valley in the winter.
For your winter visit, a four wheel drive vehicle is recommended, sometimes conditions are such that a conventional vehicle, especially one without snow tires may not be able to get to the house.

Other things to note

I leave pretty detailed notes for you, there are nuances that are part of my living style in a handmade home!

I am a designer and artist. i have a company that makes great handbags right here in Arroyo Seco: Jijibags.we are committed to quality and style with a conscience.

i love the magnificent landscape of Northern New Mexico and enjoy biking, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing the backcountry, kayaking the rivers, my garden and my dogs.
i love to cook and bake, travel, and good books and movies. art museums when i get to a city.

i made the tile for my house and built it ....with help of course. It is a great place to spend some time with easy access to all that the the mountains and town have to offer. it is quiet and yet not too far from it all.

Taos is an amazing place to live, we are fortunate to have so many museums, restaurants, the Pueblo, and wonderful people here.

i hope you come visit!
