You’ll love the peaceful village location of my place with views of the Derbyshire Dales countryside, walks & 2 pubs and a pantry shop on the doorstep. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends. My place is close to public transport but a car would be advisable.

The space
We have Alpacas a 2 minute drive away, where we reside, for you to get to know and enjoy an ‘Alpaca Walking Experience’ as an optional extra. Guests receive a 10% discount when using our discount code. Pre-booking is highly essential & recommended!! We're also able to offer a 20% discount at one of Matlock Baths main tourist attractions 'The Heights of Abraham'.

To the rear of the cottage nestled in a private courtyard is a delightful patio garden with blooming plants and comfortable furniture, and a luxurious and inviting hot tub ensuring everyone will be delighted with their stay. However, we do restrict hot tub use to the hours of 09:00-22:00 as we want to respect our neighbours, so if you’re thinking of ‘all night’ hot tub parties with lots of loud music, I’m afraid this cottage is not the place for you!

In 2019 this property was thoughtfully renovated and beautifully decorated. A stone-built semi-detached cottage dating back to the 18th Century, that provides outstanding accommodation for up to four people. This Peak District Cottage has a cosy and relaxing lounge with seating around the wood burner, and a well-equipped kitchen and dining room. There are two beautiful and tranquil bedrooms, with robes and toasty warm alpaca duvets for more comfort, and luxury, ensuring a truly restful night's sleep.

There is a stylish bistro set at the front of the cottage enabling you to watch the world go by while enjoying the country views over a morning coffee.

Alton Towers, Matlock Farm Park, Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall are all a short drive away, as are pretty Matlock Bath, Wirksworth, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton

We are dog friendly but do charge a one-off cleaning fee of £25.00 per two dogs so don’t forget to add your dog/s to your booking.

Other things to note
The layout of these 18th century cottages when they were built were such that our neighbours at ‘Hope Cottage’ own and have access to, the fenced off area of the rear garden, and they also have a right of access down the path at the side of the house. We do ask that guests ensure that all pathways are kept clear of any obstructions.

Brassington is a tranquil, unspoiled conservation village on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park. Brassington has cottages dating back to the 17th and 18th Centuries and is a traditional limestone village which now has a small shop. It also has two public houses, one of which is award winning, both of which serve good food and are only a short stroll away. The bustling town of Matlock is just eight miles away and Ashbourne is 5 miles away for a wider range of shops and other amenities. Carsington Water can be reached by car, or foot over Carsington Pastures and is only two miles distance. It offers many outdoor pursuits such as sailing, boating, windsurfing and cycling. There is also a restaurant, shops and an adventure playground for children. This property offers a peaceful retreat and the ideal base from which to enjoy everything this stunning area has to offer.
