La Vieille Distillerie is a recently refurbished 1920’s house previously owned by a Cognac producing family in Matha, (SW France). Situated in easy walking distance to the centre of Matha and all its amenities including bars, restaurants, shops and bakery. Offering 5 bedrooms, this family owned Chambres d'hotes is set in beautiful parkland grounds overlooking vines. The property offers a great base to explore the second sunniest part of France for individual travellers, couples or families.

Set in the heart of Cognac country, this is the 2nd sunniest part of France. Matha is a small town in the Charente Maritime, SW France. It has a small chateau in parklands within 10 minutes walk. There is a waterpark which is open from June to October within 5 mins walk and the town often hosts local events but is within easy reach of big cities who hold national and international events including animation, motor/vintage rallies. Jazz festivals and the like. It is within easy reach of forests, countrysides, river walks and the beach stretching from La Rochelle through to Royan is approximately 1 hour away.
