ABOUT CHEZ ZANY, OUR PLACE

have you ever thought about going abroad with you backpack without being in the 8 bunker beds room? yes, we though the same thing. we loved to stay in hostels, but when we reached the thirties we needed our privacy. at the same time we still wanted to meet people and make friends during our travels.

so after 5 years beeing host on airbnb, we created the - chez zany - in a house that was build in 1938 with a beatiful terrace and a lot of space. It has 4 rooms in the first floor, near the kitchen and the toilet and in the 2nd floor there is the terrace with more 3 bedroom. We opened chez zany in 2019 july and we are looking to have guest just like you!

we are pet-friendly, vegan-friendly, lgbtq+-friendly, netflix friendly and chocolat-friendly.

- 30’s house - built by a couple of spanish that moved to Brazil
- Vintage design/decor

- Full Kitchen - spicies, oil, pots, pans and space in the fridge
- Nice quality shampoo, soap and conditioner

***SETTING EXPECTATIONS:***
About the Area:
Chez Zany is a new type of hosting, it’s not a hotel, neither a hostel. We don’t have 24/7 reception and we will use airbnb/message apps to contact each other during your stay. We also don’t have cleaners everyday and we believe in mutual cooperation, thus we hope you to respect the house and the others guests keeping it clean and organized. If everyone does it's part, everyone can stay comfortable and happy =)

WELL, BUT WHY SO AFFORDABLE?

In order to keep a good price we reduced the overall staff - we host volunteers to help us with the house management but if you have any doubts or want extra info we can assist you thought message apps. We also don’t have cleaners everyday, we hope you respect the house and keep it clean, so we can stay affordable =)

CHECK-IN: You can enter the house from 8am to leave your bags and use the common areas. However, the check-in in the ROOM is only after 3pm. It’s important to inform us of your arrival time. We work with a reduced staff to keep our prices affordable =)

CHECK-OUT: It’s necessary for you to leave the room at 12am, BUT you can stay in the house and/or leave your lugagge with us.

HOUSE RULES:
Rule nº1 - Meet people! The house is made for it =) There is more 6 rooms in the house, full of nice travelers with nice histories. Get to know them.
Rule nº2 - NO VISITORS ARE ALLOWED
Rule nº3 - Your safety is the safety of other guests - always lock the house door and take care with your keys.
Othes rules - We will let you know as soon as you arrive, but those are the most important \o

QUIET HOURS: You can arrive at anytime but we kindly ask you to make silence after 22pm to 8am. Let’s respect the others guests.

LAUNDRY SERVICE: every 5 days bookings get a free use of the laundry. The extra wash is R$15,00.

SMOKING POLICY - If you want to smoke, we highly recommend for you to do it in the outside area or on the terrace. Please, collect all the cigars (and remainings) before leaving.

DRUGS POLICY - The same as in the brazilian government - just don’t use.

The house is located in Santa Teresa neighbohood, but the truth is actually is in Glória. Glória neighbohood in a residential area full of markets, bars, banks and with a metro station. You will also enjoy the tradicional street market that happens always on sunday - enjoy all the fruits and vegetables from brazil. Gloria is also near from Lapa where you can have a few caipirinhas. You can reach copacabana and ipanema by metro/bus/bike (yes, there is a cycleway \o)
it's a pretty safe neighbohood and you might have a great time here
