Brand new in 2019, the Lodge is luxurious and private. You'll get your own front door and we're also doing a deep clean between guests, disinfecting every square inch of The Lodge - please see the lovely things guests say about our cleanliness 😊

You'll get free private parking and an outdoor area for al fresco lunches. We provide a free welcome pack including fresh coffee and chocolates. Please ask for details of our optional upgrades such as flowers, rose petals, birthday cake etc ❤️

The space
There's so much to do in this area! Chester Zoo, Knowsley Safari Park and Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village are all open, and we're a short drive from beautiful beaches, in both Wirral and North Wales. We're between the amazing cities of Chester and Liverpool, both of which have fabulous historic architecture and wonderful shopping! There are spectacular mountain landscapes in Wales, just fifteen minutes away, and nature reserves throughout Wirral and Cheshire. We have woodland walks from the doorstep.

There are multiple local supermarkets and pharmacies. We also have many takeaway services, and there are some fabulous local pubs, with gardens and outdoor seating areas for lazy sunny days ☀️

The Lodge has its own private outdoor courtyard area, perfect for an Al fresco lunch, or a glass of wine as the sun goes down.

It has a 32 inch smart TV, which works with all free TV channels, and is particularly great if you have your own Netflix or Amazon Prime account so you can snuggle up and watch movies.

We like to think of the Lodge as small, but perfectly formed! The bedroom area has one double bed, custom made in linen for the Lodge. It has a brand new Tencel mattress, which our guests tell us is the comfiest bed they ever slept on! It has an extra-tall upholstered headboard for lazy mornings. The feather-filled cushions have cotton velvet covers, the blankets are alpaca, and the bedlinen is cotton-rich brocade. You have your own bedside drawers, with a lamp and electrical socket each side for phone charging.

The mini-lounge area has two generously sized easy chairs, with a small accent table for your tea, coffee, or wine! We've also included a further two foldaway tables, which might be used as individual dining tables, or as desks.

There's a small, separate walk-through dressing area, with a wardrobe. There's no space for a kitchen, but this is where you'll find a small cupboard with countertop, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and Krups coffee machine - Dolce Gusto cappuccino coffee pods are also included. Your crockery is Spanish earthenware, and there's a selection of hand-blown glassware from Zara Home. The cutlery is 18/10 stainless steel from Villeroy and Boch. We've also included the essentials such as scissors, a decent paring knife, a small chopping board, a tin opener, and of course a corkscrew!

And to make you feel at home, we've provided a small welcome pack of drinks and nibbly bits, which includes Tetley teabags, Nescafe coffee sachets, Aero hot chocolate (with squirty cream in the fridge!), Dolce Gusto cappuccino, filtered water, cartons of orange juice, cereal bars, biscuits, and pain-au-chocolat. You'll also find some some delicious chocolates waiting by your bedside.

There's also a gorgeous shower room, finished with Italian porcelain tiles. We've provided lovely big soft bath sheets and hand towels, all of which are Egyptian cotton. And because the small things count, we've provided upmarket soap and shampoo: there's nothing like washing your hands with Molton Brown to make you feel a bit pampered!

We’ve also provided an iron with ironing board, and a hairdryer, as well as essentials like a first-aid kit, books, and magazines, to make you feel at home!

PLEASE NOTE
A carbon monoxide detector isn't necessary here, because everything is electrical, there's no combustible fuel at all.

Guest access
There's a small courtyard/patio area right outside your door, with a table and chairs, with full sun by mid afternoon throughout summer. It's perfect for an alfresco lunch, or alfresco wine! It's also a nice place to sit out in the evenings, and watch the sun go down, and do a little bit of bat-spotting at that magical moment when dusk happens and light and dark are perfectly balanced. Just beautiful!

Other things to note
There's free parking on the gravelled area right in front of your room. There's plenty of space for one guest car, and if you arrive separately in two cars, there's still enough space if you park carefully - parking bumper first against the garage is probably best unless your cars are very long.

If you do arrive in larger cars, there's plenty of free roadside parking adjacent to our little cul-de-sac.

We have two family cars, so we'd ask that you leave enough room for us to access the driveway.

Location

Cheshire West and Chester, England, United Kingdom

We're in an upmarket leafy community, and very easy to find. We're an easy ten or fifteen minute drive to Chester, Cheshire Oaks and Chester Zoo and multiple beautiful beaches. We're within two miles of the M53, and within half a mile of main arterial roads.

Our immediate area is quiet, well-lit, safe, and friendly. We're about half a mile from shops and amenities of Little Sutton village. Please note, we're not in a city centre location, so if you want hustle and bustle, you might prefer a different place.

The real beauty of The Lodge is that it's a peaceful little escape, far away from crowds and noise, a luxurious place to relax and chill out after a busy day. There’s a woodland path less than a minute’s walk away, and a public footpath just across the road, which winds across farmland. there are also two pubs within an easy half mile stroll!

If you'd like to travel by train, the park and ride station at Hooton is a mile away. That's either a short taxi ride, or you can take the car and park all day for £1. Chester is just two stops, and Liverpool just twenty five minutes away. Little Sutton train station is a little over half a mile away if you prefer to walk.

If you're looking for a mini-break with lots to do, the Lodge is perfect! We're surrounded by amazing places to visit, all within a short drive. There are top shopping destinations, windswept beaches, towering mountain landscapes of North Wales, and heritage cities - Chester dates back to Roman occupation and Liverpool is regarded as Britain's finest Victorian city by English Heritage.

SHOPPING
First things first - let me tell you about the shopping! If bargain-hunting is your thing, of course we have Cheshire Oaks designer outlet village just four miles away, home to 145 designer brands including Burberry, Kate Spade, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Pandora, Armani etc.

It really is a destination all by itself, and you could easily spend an entire weekend there. There are bars, restaurants, cafes, a multiplex cinema, and tenpin bowling - and the Blue Planet Aquarium is right next door. Just across the road you'll find the award-winning, biggest, greenest, Marks and Spencer, which again could make an entire day out.

Liverpool is just a short drive or train journey away, and home to some of the best shopping in the UK. There's the Liverpool One shopping centre, located right on the waterfront, and there's the high-end Metquarter. There’s also the growing craft and vintage communities at the Cains’ Brewery development, for a completely unique day out.

Chester is different again, and you’ll find modern high street shops and independent boutique retailers scattered through ancient streets and ‘rows’. Some of the shops are built inside English Heritage Grade 1 listed buildings and stone crypts, dating back to medieval times.

CHESTER
Chester is our county town - we're very fortunate to have such a beautiful old city right on our doorstep. You’ll find beautiful tea rooms, pubs and bars, restaurants, and boutique shops, sitting alongside Roman, Tudor and Victorian buildings.

We also have the unique undercover walkways known as Chester Rows, the original Roman walls around the city, which you can stroll freely around, the original Roman ampitheatre, beautiful eleventh century Chester Cathedral, and Grosvenor Park.

If you want chance to dress up and have a flutter, you’ll find horseracing events at the Roodee Racecourse throughout the spring, summer, and autumn months. Chester is built around the River Dee, which still hosts seasonal brass bands, old-fashioned farm ice-cream booths, boat hire, boat trips - and of course ducks! There are also concerts here, Shakespearean productions in Grosvenor Park, and a full theatre and festival programme.

LIVERPOOL
And then we have the wonderful, vibrant city of Liverpool just nine miles away, or under half an hour on the train. It has some of the most spectacular architecture in the UK, including over one hundred listed buildings, rooted in the city’s development as a major historical port. It’s been described by English Heritage as Britain’s finest Victorian city.

You’ll also find so many fascinating museums (including the Beatles Museum, the International Slavery Museum, the Maritime Museum, and the World Museum) and art galleries, as well as two cathedrals! There are numerous sites of historical interest such as the Albert Dock, Speke Hall, Sefton Park Palm House, St George’s Hall - and of course all the Beatles heritage sites.

And then of course, there are the bars, restaurants, and nightlife, at which Liverpool excels! Within Wirral and Merseyside, there are also a choice of casinos, numerous concert venues, cinema complexes, and theatres.

WIRRAL, CHESHIRE AND NORTH WALES
If you’re an adventurer, we have forests of Delamere, established for hunting in the eleventh century by the Earls of Chester, where you’ll find opportunity for walking, biking and Go-Ape!

Then there’s Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium, the Boat Museum, and Knowsley Safari Park – to name but a few of the local attractions.

For those looking for a more relaxed break, we have the countryside of Cheshire on our doorstep. Spread across the Cheshire salt plains you’ll find sandstone trails, canals, a working watermill, candle factory, ice-cream farms, and the ruins of Beeston Castle, where there are regular re-enactments of the Civil War.

The footpaths, windswept beaches, and nature reserves of Wirral are just two or three miles away, replete with the seal colonies off Hilbre Island – if you get the tide times right!

And if all of that isn’t enough, we’re also just five miles from North Wales, with its the stunning beaches, artsy Victorian seaside towns, and towering mountain landscapes.
