Description

The space

This one bedroom apartment is only steps to public transportation and sits between two popular and trendy neighborhoods in Chicago. Just a few blocks north is the Logan Square Blvd. and Bucktown/Wicker Park just a short walk to the East and steps to the new 'Chicago 606' bike and running trail.

Modern condo in a residential neighborhood with sun-lit living room, hardwood floors, granite counters in the kitchen, and free washers and dryers in the basement.

Guests will have full access to the entire condo with exception of the home office.

I will greet guests upon arrival and be available by phone if there are any questions or problems.

This is a quiet, residential block between the hip neighborhoods of Logan Square and Wicker Park/Bucktown and the '606.'

The Armitage (#73) and Milwaukee (#65) buses are only a few blocks away, while the Western Blue Line station can be found just a half mile away.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire space that includes a full kitchen with coffee, espresso maker, tea kettle. The main living room contains a 42" plasma screen with a AppleTV for streaming Netflix, Amazon, Showtime Anytime and more. The bedroom has a queen bed and there is a full bathroom. The basement area has laundry. The only room that is locked is the home office.

Interaction with guests

I will try my best to greet guests upon their arrival and share with them information regarding the neighborhood, transportation, nightlife and dining. I will also be available to them via telephone if they have any additional questions.

The neighbourhood

The building is located between Wicker Park/Bucktown and Logan Square. There are several amazing Michelin honored local restaurants, micro-brews, late night bars, a local movie theatre and a short walk away from public transportation and steps to the 606. Humboldt Park, Wicker Park and Palmer Square are all just minutes away.

Getting around

The Armitage #73 is one block north and the Western Blue Line is just a few blocks East and North West. Uber and Taxis are always just minutes away.

Other things to note

Please enjoy the complimentary wine and chocolate when you arrive. And please make use of the coffee bar. The coffee bar includes a drip coffee maker, an espresso maker and a Harlo for pour over coffee. There is also a tea kettle for the tea drinkers.

Everything was terrific - the place had the great location that everyone mentioned, but it was also very nice nice on the interior. Modern, spacious, and clean with crispy cool AC and nice TV setup. Would love to stay here again!

I actually had my parents stay at Mark's place whilst they visited their first grandson. The place is a 7-8 minute walk from where we live so for us the location was obviously ideal. However, it's also just a few minutes from the 606, the Blue Line "el" , the Foodsmart grocery store and the restaurants around Logan Square. Mark is a good host, some nice touches like milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine upon arrival. He's also responsive and even offered a free night at the end of the 17 day stay (we didn't need it but the offer was a lovely gesture). My parents took advantage of the TV streaming to keep with the UK Sky News, and their is a Nest thermostat which maintains the temperature really easily. The apartment is up 3 flights of stairs which are a little tight and windy, especially if you're more senior and / or have heavy bags, so consider that if those labels describe you. But that's all spelled out so it wasn't a surprise, just a fact. Also the neighbourhood is lively and louder than a hotel might be, nothing untoward, just something that not everyone is used to. As with any Airbnb it's not "hotel clean" but Mark maintains a good standard of cleanliness and offered to change bedsheets etc during the stay which was appreciated.

Great location, convenient to both wicker park & logan square. Lots of space, great air flow & heat. Shower & water pressure is nice too. The kitchen is great but we didn't use it at all.

The place is great. The location is very convenient, parking is easy to find. I almost always found a spot immediately in front of the building. The bed is fantastic. The TV is really nice and he has cable and Netflix and Hulu set up. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. Overall it's a great Airbnb experience and Mark was easy to get ahold of and accommodating. I definitely recommend his unit.

Cozy, third-floor walk-up. Bed was SO comfy. Plenty of room for our family of three. Loved the easy access to the 606 trail. Well stocked with the small amenities that make you feel welcome. Quiet neighborhood with no trouble getting street parking right in front of the building. Proximity to three fun neighborhoods with great food was a bonus!

A lovely place to stay in the Logan Square / Wicker Park area. Plenty of nice places to eat and things to do nearby. Mark was easy to communicate with and left the apartment well furnished and clean.
