Our home is a short 2 block walk to downtown Mountain View's Castro St with hundreds of restaurants of every nationality. You can't get much closer to downtown! We're also a short walk to the Steven's Creek Trail, as well as Caltrain (a Baby Bullet train stop to San Francisco and San Jose) and Light Rail. Close to highways CA85, US-101, CA237 and I-280 (although you can't see or hear any of them). Close to Googxx, Linked!n, Facebxxk, Microsoft, Apple, and many other high-tech companies. Less than 6 miles to Stanford University and Stanford Hospital and less than 2 miles to El Camino Hospital.

Although close to so many things, this home is still on a very quite residential street. If you're doing anything that may create excessive noise or any problems for the neighbors, we're confident this is not the listing for you. Thanks for understanding.

With the summer demand in downtown Mountain View, we usually rent this home to one Guest for the full 3 months of Jun/Jul/Aug. So PLEASE do not make a reservation request for that period for any shorter than 2 months. You can feel free to send us an inquiry and we can update you, but PLEASE do not send an actual reservation.

If you have any issues with check-in and check-out times or any special requests for your arrival, please just let us know. Some friends from the East Coast cannot start a day without Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Not just any coffee, it has to be their brand. Caf or decaf? Soy milk or half-n-half? If you have a request, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

We look forward to hearing from you, and we hope you'll decide right now to at least reach out to us with an inquiry.

Anne and Mike

Guest access

Entire private home with backyard.

Interaction with guests

We rent our entire property so we will not be staying there at all during our Guest's stay. We try our best to meet the Guest when they move in to show them around and at the end to collect the keys. However, we also have a secure process to exchange keys even when we cannot meet. We also live downtown Mtn View and are always available 24/7 by email, text or phone during your stay. Some guests like to interact a lot, asking for recommendations on restaurants, kid's activities, local outdoor activities, etc. Others we hear from at the beginning and then the end only. Whatever the Guest prefers!

The neighbourhood

Our home is in the heart of the Old Mountain View Neighborhood, just two short blocks from vibrant downtown Castro St. The people of Old Mountain View love their neighborhood and are very proud of it. We think our Guests will love it as well!

Getting around

You'll be five short blocks from the Mountain View Transit Center which has company buses to many hi-tech businesses, public buses, CalTrain (a Baby Bullet train stop to San Francisco in 45 minutes and San Jose in 14 mins) and Light Rail (goes right to Great America Amusement Park as well as the SF 49'ers new Levi's Stadium). We're close to highways CA85 (0.9 miles), US-101 (1.5 miles), CA237 (1 mile) and I-280 (3.5 miles), although you can't see or hear any of them. We're 10 miles from SJC (San Jose Airport), 26 miles from SFO (San Francisco Airport) and 34 miles from OAK (Oakland Airport).

I had read very good things about Anne and Mike from previous reviews, and I am glad to say that everything during my visit reinforced what I had read. Mike was extremely helpful and accessible, for example offering a crib when I asked about having a friend stay overnight and making sure that I had a parking pass for that friend when he arrived on the day of a local 49ers game. The location can't be beat and the house is extremely comfortable and well-outfitted. The cherry on top: When we arrived, there was a wonderful Malbec waiting for us. We had a lovely visit.

The house was really nice and very clean. Anna & Mike very kindly left us a welcome card and a bottle of wine. Great location, walking distance to everything MV. Would choose to stay again.

Great hosts! Mike and Anne hosted us for a trip to see the Dodgers play in SF. Mike was full of helpful info on travel options and things to do nearby. You really do feel like you're staying with friends. Great location, with plenty to do nearby. Definitely 5 stars!

We've stayed in a lot of airbnbs and Mike is definitely the most dedicated, hospitable host we have ever experienced! He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, including a high chair for our son and even buying a new clothes drying rack after I asked if there was one. The house is in an amazing location, just two short blocks from all Castro St restaurants and all the town amenities are walking distance such as the Library, post office and a grocery store. The house is very spacious for being so central and was as pictured with the exception of the garden, which I'm afraid has suffered considerably from the drought (which is to be expected). We stayed during some hot weather and the overhead fans in each room were much appreciated! Would happily stay in Ann and Mike's properties again. Thank you Ann and Mike for your hospitality!!

Anne And Mike User ProfileAnne And Mike is a superhost.

Anne and Mike have been a couple since meeting at the University of Michigan in 1986. We love to travel and have lived in France, Japan, and China. We also had the pleasure of taking 18 months to travel the world in 1998 and 1999, visiting 15+ countries on a very low budget. We settled in beautiful Mountain View, CA in 2000 and have two active boys (10 and 12 years old).
We have rented people's places on some of our world travels and our goal is always to leave the house just as we found it.
