Druim Ban is a warm, comfortable and stylish home in which to unwind with family or friends. Set in a south facing position with huge windows overlooking an extensive patio, mature gardens and out over Camuscross bay you could be forgiven for putting the car keys aside for your stay with the odd wander down to the historic harbourside inn Hotel Eilean Iarmain for a wee dram and some food but if you want to explore the house is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Isle of Skye.

The space
From the main door guests enter a inner porch off which is a large cloakroom ideal for storing shoes and outdoor gear. From the large hall way you are led into the spacious main living area with dining room next to the kitchen area. The dining room then flows into a vaulted sitting room all with full height windows overlooking the garden, TV and log burning stove.
Bedroom-wise there is flexibility with two downstairs bedrooms; the master with en suite showerroom, and a further double off the hall adjacent to the main family bathroom, then pstairs there are two further bedrooms (a twin bedroom which is not detailed in the listing as we do not accept more than 6 guests but on booking guests can request for all the bedrooms to be made up if two guests to do not want to share a bedroom. The whole house is stylishly and comfortably furnished with beautiful artwork, a huge library of books and a stunning outlook.

Where you’ll be

Isleornsay, Scotland, United Kingdom

Set between the stunning bays of Camuscross and Isleornsay to the south of the island, the house is only a short walk to the historic harbour and old inn 'Hotel Eilean Iarmain' with its cosy An Praban bar, an atmostpheric place to grab a bite to eat and a dram by the fireside. It is home to the 'Gaelic Whiskies' so ask for tasting and if you fancy making some purchases there's a wonderful tweed and wool shop too.

If its fine dining you are after the world famous Kinloch Lodge Hotel is a short drive away and is highly recommended, as are Duisdale and Toravaig Hotels both within spitting distance too.

The community shop, PO and cafe 'An Crubh' is located just up the main road towards Armadale which also has a fantastic community run shop, PO and fuel station.

Down the road at Tokavaig is Skye's newest distillery which does tours and tastings and be sure to visit it's lovely little cafe for lunch or cake.

Supermarkets and fuel stations can be found in Broadford and Kyle of Lochalsh. Kyle also has an excellent butcher, Fisherman's Kitchen (fish shop & takeaway) and bank, coming back over the bridge onto Skye you'll find another fish shack & takeaway as well as a decent Indian restaurant Taste of India if you fancy curry.

In Broadford you'll find a range of smaller independent shops, eateries (we recommend Deli Gasta cafe and the Hebridean Inn), there is a brand new hospital with probably the best views of any hospital in the world!

From Broadford the road north takes you to Portree and Dunvegan and the road west towards the stunning village of Elgol looking out over to the Small Isles and into Cuillins, from here you can take one of the most stunning boatrips in the world (the Bella Jane or the Misty Isle - booking recommended) to explore Loch Coriusk (tip: buy a delicious langoustine roll and some cake from the little kiosk or village shop if not open to picnic on when you get there)
