The origins of the name I Granai reside in the ancient house that housed peasant families who dedicated their lives to agriculture, thanks to crops of wheat, olive trees and vines. Today, the complex has been renovated and houses two family apartments with two bedrooms, a living room, an equipped kitchen, and a bathroom in each of them. In addition, it is possible to get acquainted with the world of medicinal plants thanks to Aurum workshops where they are transformed on site into natural food supplements. The Granai are 3 km from Rufina, 10 km from Pontassieve and 25 km from Florence, which is easily accessible both by car and train from Rufina station in about halfanhour. In the area you can visit the wineries and organize horseback excursions at the many riding stables or on foot in the many trails marked by the CAI. Of particular interest for those who love trekking, nature and art, the church of San Lorenzo in Montefiesole, the sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso, Vallombrosa and Mount Secchieta, the itineraries in the area of Santa Brigida and Monte Giovi.
