Situated at the end of the road in 11 private acres of trees is a loft bedroom guest house called "die Hutte" that is just 1.7mi from the Blue Ridge Parkway --- the gateway to all of the adventures that the Great Smoky Mountains have to offer.

The space

This guest house, which we call the "Hutte," is a completely separate, secluded, private, unique facility that is not only charming, it is complete with a kitchen, satellite TV, instant LPG gas heat, a queen size bed, suburb mountain well water --- in short, it has everything you’ll ever need for a relaxing, peaceful, cozy get-a-way. Its all-wood interior produces a "natural" atmosphere that blends well with the surrounding Smoky Mountain rural community.
Situated only 1.7 miles from an entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway, one has ready access to the Cherokee Indian reservation, Asheville, Mount Mitchel, Gatlinburg, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and many, many other points of interest. There’s plenty of nearby hiking trails, waterfalls, picnic areas, golf courses, historic landmarks, local events ---- enough to guarantee a full day, every day and a full digital camera chip with precious memories.

Guest access

Keys will be provided to this private facility. Space can be made available upon request in the garage for the overnight parking of a motorcycle.

Interaction with guests

Ample, current literature (brochures, maps, etc.) are available in the "Hutte" for the guests to peruse at their leisure. Your hosts will be ready to answer questions, provide directions, and make recommendation for the entire time of your stay.

Other things to note

Please be aware that one MUST be able to climb stairs to reach the loft bedroom. Also, be aware that the overhead beams in the loft are low and care should be taken lest one "bump" into them.

Remember: The Autumn foliage colors can be simply awesome here in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina.

Such an amazing experience. Gordon and Marie were the kindest hosts and made us feel right at home from the second we got there. The little cabin was perfect for the two of us, right on the heart of the country with many many places to go, see, hike and experience!

This cabin is set in the midst of many beautiful trees and birds. A nearby waterfall can be heard through the open windows. The cabin is stocked with movies and all of the necessities. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 7 minutes away. Within 30 minutes one can get to sights such as the Biltmore, the NC Arboretum, the Folk Art Museum, Water Rock Knob ( for an absolutely fantastic view of the sunset or sunrise), and the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. Your hosts have plenty of pamphlets onth on things to see and do. As a single woman I felt incredibly . Gordon AMD Marie did all they could do you help me feel welcomed and comfortable. I had a wonderful experience here.

Loved the quite, out of the way location but close enough to attractions to go out and explore. Gordon and Marie are wonderful hosts and all around people. The whole house generator is a great addition since we lost power after a storm. Everything worked as if we still had electricty. Would love to stay here again in the future.

What a beautiful spot! Private, quiet, out in the middle of the woods. We so enjoyed our stay. So peaceful.

Gordon and Marie were the sweetest couple and provided us with information around the area and provided us with easy access to our lofts features. It was a neat and tidy place with home like features. It was my wife's birthday and they had balloons, cake and a card for her when we arrived! We hope to return In the near future!

Driving of the 4 lane towards the cabin we couldn't help but feel more and more enthusiastic about our stay at the hutte. It was the great driveway, the warm welcome and the amazing view, combined with this cozy, and well maintained, clean and fun cottage that made our day! When you add the breathtaking blue ridge parkway drive, and the great must sees Gordon will be able to give you, this location gave us the great nature stay we were looking for!

Gordon's place was very clean, and extremely comfortable. Everything you need is supplied, they even had a couple of delicious muffins on the counter awaiting me. I could have slept in that wonderful bed all day if I didn't have things to do! In my opinion this is the best bang for your buck on here. You won't find a cleaner more comfortable place like this. I will definitely be staying here in the future.
