This cosy well equipped shepherd's hut is situated on a small holding farm a mile from the village of Chideock and 2 miles from the stunning Jurassic coast and SW coast path. It is sited in it's own paddock adjacent to the Monarch's Way.
You have your own private toilet, shower and kitchen in a barn close to the hut which also has games like ping pong and a pool table and sofas.
Outside the hut is BBQ, fire pit with electric kettle, hob and heater inside together with towels and bedding.

The space
Venn farm is the centre of numerous spectacular footpaths many are featured in the manual. Bridport is a thriving market town with plenty of cafes and restaurants and antique and independent shops, all just 2 miles from the stunning jurassic coast.

Dog Friendly
We love well behaved dogs and welcome them in all our properties. There is a cold water hose outside the old barn in the entrance. Please do not allow your dog on the bed.

Nearly all the pubs and cafes are dog friendly and many of the beaches are too. Eype beach and parts of West Bay are dog friendly all year round. Charmouth allows dogs after 6pm in the summer, all day until May 31st.

Animals on the Farm
There are horses, chicken, geese, ducks and sheep, our two dogs and a very friendly ginger cat (Clive) on the farm. Sometimes we have pigs. A few of the sheep are very friendly and will let you cuddle them if you approach slowly. They will eat a bit of bread or biscuit if you want to feed them. The horses are quiet and don’t bite. You can give them carrots and apples (hold your hand out flat) but nothing else please. There are Geese and ducks in the paddock opposite The Vintage Retreat. Please do not give bread to the geese but you can give the ducks bread. The geese may chase you during the egg-laying season if you enter their field, so approach with caution and don’t run or maybe just watch from the gate!!

COVID-19 REASSURANCE
We want to reassure you in these unsettling times that if a booked stay cannot go ahead due to an imposed government lockdown then we will refund your stay in full or offer alternative dates. Our cancellation policy will still apply in all other instances.

I have lived on the farm with my husband David for over 40 years. We have two children and three grandchildren who live in Exeter and France. We love living here with our two labradors, a cat, chicken and farm animals and enjoy walking in this amazing countryside.
