You get what you pay for but I have to say this was exceptional value for money. Spotless, well managed, if I did holiday breaks I'd do it like this. You will NOT be disappointed.

Unfortunately, the house is poorly maintained and communication wasn't great. We arrived to a cold house and tried to contact the host without any luck. After spending a cold evening and night in the house we eventually contacted the host the following morning. The problems were fixed very quickly but the heating in the house just doesn't work well. There are countless bits of the house that are badly maintained, for example only one of the four lights work in the bathroom. The house needs a good clean from top to bottom and a bit of TLC. What a shame, it has so much promise. Considering the location this should be a premium cottage for £130 per night in mid-March but it most certainly isn't. As a footnote I would add that do not bother going to the Black Horse pub up the path, it's awful and despite all the signs on the cottage saying Black Horse, Beamish it's apparently nothing to do with it.

Absolutely a little hidden treasure in tranquil surroundings.. woke up one morning to see a huge big red fox in the garden.. it was a real frosty morning so you can imagine ...a beautiful picture. The cottage is literally a stones throw from the bar/restaurant, where you can get beautiful food, Definitely recommend this little gem.. hope to return in near future.

Really beautiful place to stay, high quality accommodation equipped for summer or winter with lots of games and DVDs if you want to stay in but lovely countryside to explore and an excellent gastro pub only 200 yards away (but no disturbance at all). Worked perfectly for us. Thank you Grace.

Very happy to have chosen this accommodation. Location and setting were perfect. Cottage was clean and well setup and had everything we could need. Lots of nearby activities - we visited Beamish, Angel of the North, Gibside, and the Causey Arch. Handy X30/X31 bus route opposite Causey Arch Inn for Gateshead/Newcastle. Excellent Black Horse inn up the road - ate there for lunch on arrival and dinner one evening.
