Neighbourhood highlights

Bridge is a very vibrant village. It has 3 pubs and the boutique Pig Hotel has a restaurant, bar and casual dining outside in the summer.

The Bridge Arms
We are so excited about the launch of this pub, taken over by the couple who transformed The Fordwich Arms into a Michelin Star restaurant. This pub has been renovated inside, has a lovely big garden and we are anticipating a fabulous menu and wine list.

The Red Lion
The village stalwarts Rene and Harry through thick and thin have provided an excellent food delivery service when unable to open in the pandemic and also manage the village post office onsite. Dog friendly as well. This pub has a choice of indoor and outdoor areas and a restaurant area.

Both pubs, The Bridge Arms and Red Lion have gardens and are child friendly. Both these pubs and the Plough and Harrow serve food and are in easy walking distance of the cottage. The Michelin star restaurants Rocksalt and The Fordwich arms are both an easy taxi ride.

There is lovely coffee shop within 100 metres and there are some other trendy cafes such as the Independent Pedlar, Tadpoles Tea room and Mama Feel Goods that can be walked to through beautiful countryside.

There is a grocery store, pharmacy, beauty salon and hairdressers in the village as well as a tennis club, play park and health centre.

Canterbury is 2.5 miles away with its Historic Cathedral, Marlowe and Gulbenkian theatre, many tourist attractions, shops, restaurants and bars.

The train from Canterbury gets you into London in 57 mins, the train from Folkestone gets you to France in 30 mins. We frequently go to France for day trips.

Howletts Wild Animal Park is 5 minutes away, Port Lympne Safari park is 20 minutes away. Wingham Wildlife Park is 15 minutes away.

Dover Castle is 20 mins away, Deal, Walmer, Rochester and Leeds Castle are all in an easy radius as well.

The coastal towns and beaches are all easily accessible, Folkestone, Sandgate, Hythe, Deal, Whitstable, Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate.

Vineyards and breweries, we have Simpsons and Chapel Down Vineyard, Chatham Docks has the Copper Rivet gin and whisky distillery and there are Breweries in Faversham and Ashford. These all offer drinks and dining packages.

Other local attractions include the Dymchurch Light railway, Spit Fire Museum, Quex Park, Folkestone Harbour Arm and Triennial Sculpture Exhibition and Artist Quarter The Turner Contemporary Museum in Margate. Dreamland and Diggerland.
