One of the best locations in the Adirondacks for a winter (or summer) vacation! Nestled in the North Creek/Gore Mountain region of New York’s Adirondack Mountains, this beautiful year-round chalet-style camp is perfect for large family gatherings or a romantic weekend. Surrounded by tranquil woods, but with views of the mountains, the house is ten minutes from Gore Mountain and steps from the cross country ski trails of Garnet Hill and the Siamese Ponds Wilderness.

The space

As a part of the Garnet Hill community, a 635-acre private community with private waterfront and beach on spring-fed 13th Lake adjacent to the Siamese Ponds Wilderness and located less than 10 minutes from Gore Mountain Ski Center and one hour from Whiteface Mountain, this camp and its surrounding attractions make it an ideal getaway any season of the year. The Adirondack Mountains are America's first protected wilderness and are a wonderland of lakes, mountains, rivers and streams. Come for the outdoors, or for a peaceful retreat.

Guest access

Guests are renting the entire house, with five sleeping areas including a bunk room in the finished basement. Guests will be provided with a key access to the house upon commencement of the rental

Interaction with guests

We do not live in the area, but we have caretakers who live nearby and will be available to assist you with questions or needs with the house. We will provide information about things to do in the area and are available as well by telephone. Although this is a new listing on AirBnB, the house has been rented for ten years with many repeat visitors.

Other things to note

Please note that the hot tub in the photo is no longer at the house. Also, cell phone service at the house may not be available, depending on your carrier (AT&T may get one bar), as is common in parts of the Adirondacks. Guests may use the wifi and the land line. The Garnet Hill Lodge, a minute's drive up the hill has cell service.

House Rules
No smoking
No parties or events
Check in is anytime after 3PM
Check out by 11AM

1.Please leave the house in as good a condition as it was at the time you arrived. Please leave wet and muddy boots and other items in the entryway. Additional cleaning cost will be assessed from the security deposit if there is a significant cleaning requirement following a stay.

2.No smoking is allowed in the house at any time. Renters will forfeit the entire security deposit if this rule is violated. If you smoke outside, please pick up and dispose of all cigarette butts.

3.Upon departure, please wash all dishes and remove from dishwasher, remove perishable food from refrigerator, take personal toiletries from bathrooms and remove all garbage in sealed bags and place in the cans in the shed behind the house. One bag of garbage is allowed per day. If there is additional garbage, a removal fee of $3/bag will be assessed. If needed, additional garbage bags are located under the kitchen sink.

4.You may use the wood in the woodshed for fires in the fireplace. For campfires outside, please try to minimize the use of this wood and look for downed logs in the forest. Always use kindling to start a fire SLOWLY in the fireplace. Make sure the flue is open. NEVER EVER use lighter fluid or anything other than wood and paper in the fireplace. DO NOT use treated lumber. If the fireplace becomes filled with ashes, place the ashes in the metal bucket (after they are cooled). If that gets filled, you can dump the ashes in the woods.

5.The Wifi password is on the router. No international calls from the landline, please!

6.Be gentle with the plumbing and don’t overfill the toilets. Please do not adjust the main floor heating. We keep it at a comfortable temperature at all times. The basement level can be adjusted separately with the thermostat there.

7.Upon departure, if you have used our linens, please strip the beds and take the sheets and towels downstairs to the laundry room.

8.If you use the futon sofa for sleeping, it helps to slide the board that is under the sofa between the mattress and the frame. This just keeps it from sagging in the middle.

The perfect Adirondack retreat. This home is clean and comfortable with easy access to all the benefits of the Garnet Hill community including lake, lodge and trails for hiking, mountain biking and x-country skiing. The mountain decor, well-equipped kitchen and table tennis enhance the experience.

On MLK weekend: skiing at Gore and Garnet, sledding down the trail and onto the lake (it was a BLAST), ice skating on crystal clear lake, ping pong championships, great food with well stocked (URL HIDDEN) scenic and a great hide-away!

Our stay at Camp Garnet Hill was great. House was great and we really enjoyed the open space, fireplace and the view. Kids had their own space which made it easier for all of us. Very piecefull. House had everything we needed. Great place and we would go back.

Beautiful house with an amazing view. Was exactly how it looked in the photos. It's cozy, yet spacious, which would make it great for a family, a group of friends (that was us) or even a couple. Sharon was super helpful and made sure everything was clear to us before our arrival. Access to Thirteenth Lake can't be beat either--it's rare to see a pristine lake with no development around it! We were there in the early fall (fantastic hiking in the area), but with all the cross country skiing trails just outside their door (and Gore just 15 minutes away and Whiteface nearby) this place must be great in the winter too. Highly recommend!
