This is a more than 300 year old traditional Andalusian house with a private patio, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a private terrace in the historic center of a stunningly beautiful small town on Spain's southern Atlantic coast.
The transaction was very simple and straightforward. We found our way round Vejer but if we had needed more information I'm sure Jan or Daniel would have provided us with it. The house is stunning in a very basic way, if you want five star luxury this might not be your bag. But if you want an authentically and artistically decorated and considered place then this is for you. The sun terrace is perfect for coffee, lunch, star-gazing. And the inner courtyard is a lovely surprise. Small children might find it a challenge, but for older children the quirky nature of the place is welcomed! Vejer is stunning and the house only a two minute stroll from a beautiful square where there is a shop that sells pretty much everything you need for a simple stay. A fan in the rooms would be the only addition I would make. It's an amazing find.
the house is very unique, you can feel what it means live in an andalusian home with a lovely open patio in the middle of it, at the very heart of this special town. host was not there but answered very quick to any email and we had a guy in charge of the place who was looking after us. as easy going family, looking for a 2 weeks holiday, we enjoyed the house and the town, plus vejer is just in a good position to visit all the beaches and other attraction. no TV or WIFI which is good if you want to get completely away from everything. we also love art and the house is filled with some art decoration and we love it. only suggestion is to check the wind forecast before to go there because if levante is on forget about the beaches, need to drive north cadiz to escape the wind. only cons of the holiday apart the wind, is the parking in vejer during august..very difiicult to find but managed to follow the spanish and park where ever. thank jan we had a great time there.
Due to the emplacement of Vejer in the middle of the province, is a dream destination to discover the region of Cadiz. The house of Jan is a very inspiring place, it holds all the autenticity of the traditional houses, but thanks to the art pieces and the funiture still feels very modern and cozy. We Really loved this house! Well placed in the beautiful old town of Vejer, once you manage to leave your car, all the rest is on walking distance. We surelly recommend this place and host!
