Peace and quiet

A comfortable, spacious cottage situated in extensive private grounds surrounded by woodland, meadow and river. Enjoy birdsong and clear night skies, and relax in front of the log fire after a day of adventures along the Moray coast or in the Cairngorms National Park.

An ideal base for visits to the local distilleries, and the castles, mountains, coast and paths of Moray Speyside.

The space
A large, 3 bedroom detached cottage with garden. Kitchen with dining area and laundry facilities (washing machine and drier). Spacious hallway with visitor information, separate living room with comfortable seating and open fire. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower.

All bedrooms have high quality beds, good storage and individual bedside tables with lamps.

Partially enclosed private, riverside garden with table and chairs. Plenty of space for parking and small covered car porch.


USB charging sockets throughout. Bluetooth speaker.

Shower gel and hand soap supplied.

There is a good selection of DVDs, books, toys, games and jigsaws. *Please note there is no tv reception but there is excellent wifi.*

Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided. The kitchen has a good range of herbs, spices and cooking essentials.

Other things to note
When you have visited the distilleries and castles why not take a trip to the nearby Moray Coast and catch sight of our famous dolphins. Many different varieties of seabird can be found at Spey Bay and during the summer months you may spot an osprey coming in to feed. Around the cottage you may see red squirrels, hares, roe deer, badgers, pine-martins and a great variety of birds including woodpeckers, grey wagtails, buzzards and sparrowhawks.

Aberlour is the home of Walkers shortbread , Johnstons Cashmere is milled in Elgin and the well known jams, chutneys and soups of Baxters are produced locally in Fochabers. There are several good restaurants within a few miles of the cottage and a well-stocked shop at Craigellachie.

Visit the famous Telford Bridge at Craigellachie which was designed by Thomas Telford and installed over the river Spey more than 100 years ago.

Fantastic ice-cream shop in Cullen (home of cullen skink soup) and beautiful beach. Lovely beaches also at Lossiemouth, Findhorn, Roseisle and Hopeman (good for rockpools).

Take time to explore the local businesses in Aberlour - The Whisky Art Gallery, The Gather'n, (cafe) Spey Larder, Aberlour Pharmacy, as well as newsagent, hardware, and co-op. Children's play area in the Alice Littler Park and fantastic community garden beside the parking area near the park.
Lovely ladies clothes at Speyside Wardrobe, Craigellachie and hair and beauty treatments available at Vanity Hair, Craigellachie.

Beautiful walk along the old railway line from Craigellachie to Aberlour or from Craigellachie to Dufftown. Refreshments available at Aberlour and Dufftown and buses back to Craigellachie if you have walked far enough. The Sidings Cafe at Dufftown is good for coffee, cakes and light lunches.

I have lived in Speyside for over 30 years and love welcoming visitors to this beautiful area.
