Joe's place is exactly as described. He is a wonderful host and a great person. It is secluded in a quiet little town. Main street is 5 minute drive. House has everything and can accommodate a large group. Joe took us around in his van to show us nearby attractions. He was patien…

Welcoming and explained household functions that were needed, including little helpful hints. Very cordial and friendly. Accommodations were as described and pictured. Beautiful setting!

Ravens Haven was everything we expected. Rustic, peaceful and away from the city. If you think darkness at night (no street lights) is "creepy" or expect everything to be bland and sterile, I'd find a nice hotel room. (the weekend we stayed it would have cost twice as much to sta…

I am writing this review to provide feedback for Joe so that he can make some changes and as a caution for future guests as all of the previous reviews are a little too kind. The previous reviews highlighted the positives well. Joe seems like a very nice man, the house sits on a …

Response from Joe:
I will take this review with a grain salt, as I have repeat customers for football weekends who have stayed at my house before. Also, I met Kyle in the coffeeshop the morning after the first night of him and his guests staying at my house. He could have informed me that he was not satisfied, and we could have worked out a refund, but he said nothing. First, this is a lived in house. I have bed linens washed and have fresh towels everytime the house is rented. The house was cleaned the day before by a cleaning service. I mowed the grass the day Kyle and friends showed up. I have books in my house on shelves, and tools in my back room. Yes, there is birds and bee's here in the country, and cows and horses. Maybe an occasional Amish buggy will go by the house at 6:00 a.m. If the country experience doesn't sit well with you, no, my house is not for you. I do not have new furniture. My house is not perfect, if it was I would charge $500/night, hence I am only charging $150.00/night. For people who want all the amenities, may I recommend the Atherton Hilton in State College, Pa, with the cost to match.

My stay at Ravens Haven was excellent. I was coming with a group that ranged from my grandparents to my 8 and 10 year old siblings for a graduation and it met the needs of all. The house has plenty of space, with a large kitchen and multiple tables. Do be aware that there is no …
