This is a QUIRKY floating studio meaning it has its quirks not all things work all the time, not everything is perfect. Although there are some appliances they don't always work either because of the tides or because of something else. If you need everything to work all the time this is not the right place for you. Think nature, funky, rustic.

Host was very accommodating on timing as we arrived at night and they collected us from the CalTrain station to avoid the walk to the studio. It is certainly a unique place to stay, nestled between boats, with a view out the door onto the water. It has a good shower but be prepared to put up with a smelly toilet. Also the area is poor for mobile coverage so make sure you finish your internet browsing before you arrive.

I've lived in a really nice houseboat is Sausalito for 6 months. So am familiar with houseboat style living. Unfortunately, this Airbnb did not meet expectations. Since it was a strict cancellation policy we simply decided to stay the week. A few things to note: - The Airbnb photos look much nicer than the real experience - Linens were old and didn't seem like it was washed before our arrival - Bathroom shower curtain is super old and the bathroom was so discolored and stained - There is one pot provided in the kitchenette -- so if you planned on cooking it may not an experience you would enjoy - Internet / WiFi connectivity we were aware at how bad it was before arriving. It is so bad you can't really connect. So it should be removed from the list of amenities My boyfriend Chris and I are frequent Airbnb members. We travel frequently and love to experience different places. We were up for quirky but not up for a dirty and smelly home for a week. We survived the week with a lot of humor and laughter.

We visited CA for vacation, had some in advance planning for sightseeing but most of the time we cancelled our plan and just chill looking at the river, thats how much we love the view, it was incredible. Totally worth it!!!

Just as expected in an amazing community of people in an epic location.

A good bargain for a nice experience.

The houseboat experience is not for everyone but we enjoyed the adventure of being on the water and appreciated being able to have our dog.

Houseboat review Condition: I think I was sufficiently prepared for the experience by the posted description and the other reviews. There were no unpleasant surprises and there were some pleasant ones. It's not a 5-star hotel, but it was an interesting, unusual and enjoyable experience and I'm glad I chose to stay here rather than my other choices. Internet connection: The description indicates that there is no wired internet connection. It is true that the Internet connection is a repeated WiFi signal, however the WiFi repeater does have an RJ-45 (wired) connection if you need one. However it's not going to be any faster than the wireless connection. I have measured the Internet connection speed at around 250 kilobits per second (or 31 kilobytes per second). To put it another way, it's fast enough to browse the web and possibly to listen to music, but even at YouTube's lowest bandwidth setting it will buffer regularly. That being said, the Verizon 4G LTE signal is good enough to watch movies (assuming you have a Verizon phone, hotspot or USB dongle), but of course Verizon is expensive. Television: The television is technically HD and actually has an HDMI input, but the display is - oddly - a CRT. Being a CRT the picture quality is not great, however that didn't really bother me and I was happy it had an HDMI input so I could watch movies from my phone using a Miracast adapter I brought with me. It is also able to show local broadcast HD channels. It looked like there were a few of them, but I didn't count them, as this did not interest me. Bathroom: The marine toilet didn't bother me and I found it interesting. I used to live in a travel trailer and I don't think this toilet was any worse than that. Other reviewers mentioned a smell. I didn't notice anything as long as the seat was down and I flushed it after use. I suspect others were using it multiple times between flushes (which is a common California practice). The kitchen sink is in the bathroom, though the bathroom is relatively large. I mention this only because it might bother a few, it didn't bother me at all. Tides: I downloaded a tide clock app for my phone and set it to a local Redwood City tide monitor. I found this very helpful. If you want to move something large or unwieldy in or out you might want to do it during the lowest tide of the day when the house and dock stop moving. Animals: One day I saw a seal right outside the sliding glass door. I've been told by others that they've also seen zebra sharks and rays in the water. Final thoughts: I'm glad I stayed. For those who have read the official description and the other reviews and think it might be for them, they will not be disappointed.
