Where you’ll be

Ardvasar, Scotland, United Kingdom

Sleat is known as 'the garden of Skye', the landscape is greener and compared to some parts of the Island it is less windswept and barren. The aspect here is Easterly and we look across the sea to Mallaig and some remote areas of mainland Scotland. There are some fine local walks, and visitor attractions. Point of Sleat has a remote sandy beach and Lighthouse. The ancestral Armadale Castle ruin and gardens (https://www.armadalecastle.com/), Toravaig whisky distillery (https://www.torabhaig.com/), Kinloch Lodge is a famous restaurant (https://kinloch-lodge.co.uk/menus).
http://www.visitsleat.org/Default.aspx for more info and ideas.
Please note that Ardvasar is in South Skye and bear this in mind that it is a longer drive to visit the North and West points of the Island. The village has a very small grocery shop, the nearest fuel for you car is 16miles in Broadford.
I do not serve breakfast, but some of my guests have used the local Hotel which is 3-4 minutes walk down the hill (01471 844223) https://www.the-inn-at-ardvasar.co.uk/. 'The Shed' at Armadale pier next to the ferry, and Armadale Castle (https://www.armadalecastle.com/explore/eat-drink/) also serve food in the village. Just along the main road is An Crubh - http://ancrubh.com/ which is about 15 minutes drive.
There are bigger villages on the Isle of Skye where there are more choices and shops for daily supplies. Broadford is 25minutes away, Kyle of Lochalsh, Dunvegan and Portree are all good places to find grocery shops and cafe's.
Some good friends are Kayak instructors and run trips for novice or experienced paddlers in the local area. - http://www.southskyeseakayak.co.uk/
