We are excited to have you stay at Payson Hill Farm- Cabin & Caboose! The Farm dates back to the early eighteen hundreds and the old owners put a lot of work into updating the farm plus building this amazing cabin and caboose! Our farm life currently consists of 21 free range chickens, a baby emu, 4 Muscovy ducks(coming in May) and our Great Pyrenees Belly! Follow us on Face Book and Instagram @PaysonHillFarm

The space
This unique space is two separate units and this rental includes both the cabin and caboose!! The area is down the hill from our main house but is completely private while you are here. Please look through all the pictures to get a full view of our space!

The Caboose has 4 twin beds ( 2 bunk beds) the kitchen and a bathroom. The Cabin can sleep 2 in the queen bed, loft area as 2 twin beds and a bathroom. Please note the loft area has a steep ladder and probably isn't safe for children under 5 years old.

There is cell phone service that is sometimes hit or miss depending on your carrier and we do have WIFI in the cabin.

Effective May 1 the plan: Maine’s COVID-19 travel policy requirements from an “all states included, unless exempt” model to an “all states exempt, unless included” model. This means that travelers from all states are automatically exempt unless otherwise determined by the Maine CDC.

Under this new model, the Maine CDC will be charged with identifying states that have a high prevalence of highly contagious COVID-19 variants. If one or more states see a spike in variant cases, Maine will apply its test or quarantine requirement to travelers to and from that state. This more targeted approach will remain in effect through the summer.

If you book, and then the Maine CDC deems your state included in the no travel ban, we will issue a full refund from us, hopefully that doesn't happen.

PET POLICY- due to having our free range chickens, baby emu, baby ducks and our Great Pyrenees, it makes it difficult on our farm life, if we allow your fur babies to come too. We LOVE animals but for the safety and stress of our own pets we have to decline any pets coming to the farm. While your space and our space are private, our chickens have full go at all of the spaces and the anxiety and stress on our dog makes us keep her inside which isn’t ideal since she’s the protector of our chickens from the hawks, eagles and the Fed Ex guy ;) We hope you understand and are sorry for any inconveniences this can cause.

Guest access
You will have total privacy and complete access to both the cabin and caboose during your stay.

Other things to note
We have a walking trail behind the caboose. If you venture into the woods please stay on the marked path!

The pond in the back of the caboose has NOT been swam in for at least 10 years, swim at your own risk. Nearby pond is right down the hill from us that people swim in or try Swan Lake State Park or even its even safe to swim in the Ocean around here.

For a 3D tour of our property please check us out on Face Book at Payson Hill Farm and click on the 3D link! We also have a You Tube channel which includes a Farm Tour of the property- look for us there by searching Payson Hill Farm :)

Location

Knox, Maine, United States

Payson Hill Farm is located just 10 miles (15 minute drive) from downtown Belfast, and 67 miles (1 hour and 36 minutes) to Bar Harbor.

Local gas station Weaver's Roadside Variety is 4 minutes down the road if you need anything! Pizza, soda, gas, ice cream, fishing supplies, you name it! Plus the best whoopie pies around! If you're not from Maine, this is our signature dessert and you'll need to try one!

Looking for a fresh out of the bay lobster, you'll need to head over to Young's Lobster Pound!

Hannaford is our local grocery store and that's 10 miles away (14 minutes)
Even though we are located in Knox, you'll want to head to town for all the fun things to do.
