Loon Cottage is a rustic, fully equipped log cabin on the shores of Big Moose Lake. Featuring three bedrooms and bathrooms including a master suite, a screened-in porch facing the lake, and a private dock, it is the perfect family or group getaway. A reasonable amount of firewood is provided, and canoes and kayaks available. Trash is picked up daily. Guests may access some of the amenities of the neighboring resort, Covewood Lodge.
The space
The cabin is rambling and full of charm. Downstairs is a dining area with a fireplace, a large living room, kitchen, full bathroom, and a master suite. Upstairs includes two bedrooms that face the lake — one with a bunk bed and an additional single and one with a queen bed. There is also a full bathroom upstairs. There is a private dock that can accommodate a boat.
Guest access
Guests may access the entire house, yard, and private dock. Guests also have access to the amenities at Covewood Lodge, directly next door.

There are no keys; guests can lock themselves in but not out!

Big Moose Lake is a quiet lake as there is no public boat launch. Visitors can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, hiking, water-skiing, and swimming in the warmer months. There are four restaurants in Big Moose, and many more plus grocery stores and other shopping in neighboring Inlet and Old Forge. Please note there is no cell service in Big Moose!
