The space

Quaint, cosy Cotswold stone cottage built in 1790 and Grade 2 listed.
Woodburner in the living room (plus central heating) and also a piano which you're welcome to use.
Small courtyard garden which catches the morning sun. There is a bench which is perfect for coffee and reading when the weather is nice.
Large double room with beautiful views across the valley.
Just a 5 minute walk to the town centre, the Saturday farmer's markets and the Stroud train station.
A ten minute walk to 'The Heavens' woodland.
Large mattress plus bedding can be provided for one or two (if they're happy to share) extra sleepers in the living room downstairs. But it will be cosy!

Fantastic local pubs including The Crown and Sceptre (Horns Road), The Bisley House Bar & Eatery (Middle Street) and The Prince Albert (in Rodborough).
Beautiful woodland and old canal paths to run/walk along.
The Farmer's Market happens every Saturday from early until 2pm in the town centre. Brilliant local produce at reasonable prices.

Guest access

Guests will have access to upstairs double room, bathroom, living room (can sleep one or two extra people on a double mattress), kitchen, garden and shared courtyard.
There is no parking with the house, but I always manage to find free parking either on Lower Street, Middle Street or Bowbridge Lane all of which are less than a five minute walk. You can also pull up in the driveway opposite to unload, then repark.
There will be tea, coffee, milk and cereal made available.
Towels and linen will be provided.
Maps of local walks and recommended cafes, restaurants, pubs and other information will be available on arrival.

Interaction with guests

You will be shown around and welcomed warmly by either myself or the person that manages my home when I'm away.

We stayed here on what was supposed to be our first night camping nearby. With torrential rain and two young children Ann's place was a great last minute find and totally cosy with the fire and so many interesting trinkets, books, tapestries and paintings dotted about the place. I enjoyed simple things like sitting by the window with a cup of tea. It was great not to have a TV actually and me and my partner actually talked once the kids were asleep!

It was a wonderful start, very cosy and homely. A world away from the bustle of London. Great relaxing place to stay in Stroud, just minutes away from the town centre. Definitely recommendable if you are looking for a homely in the Cotswolds.

Me and three friends stayed at Ann's lovely cottage for a weekend in order to attend a friends wedding. We had a great time, the cottage was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The location was great, with beautiful views from the back of the house over the hills, and very close to shops, restaurants and pubs. We didn't meet Ann, but Helena the housekeeper was very helpful and responded to any queries quickly. Highly recommend!

Just spent two nights at Ann's cottage and I loved it! I was doing a weekend course near Stroud and it was bliss to come back to such a cosy, quiet and welcoming haven, with everything I could possibly have needed to chill out. Such a comfy bed, lovely bathroom, fab little kitchen - with a gorgeous whistling kettle! Really easy to park close by and it's only a couple of minutes walk into town. Jed made check-in a breeze! The cottage is a gem and I can't wait to go back. Thanks so much Ann and Jed!
