The Annexe is a lovely, well-equipped self-contained suite of rooms, comprising a spacious, comfortable sitting/breakfast room, kitchenette, double bedroom and shower room, in a private part of our house. It has its own entrance with a key-safe for convenience. It's set within the village of Ponsanooth, only 4.5 miles from the beaches of Falmouth, and is handy for exploring the area and all of Cornwall. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is here, including outside seating, BBQ & parking.

The space
The space is generally homely and comfortable with furniture and paintings which are mainly family heirlooms. There is a smart TV and there are plenty of books for you to browse and CDs/DVDs to keep you amused.
The small kitchen area has been cleverly designed with convenience in mind. There is an Elfin Kitchen unit comprising a sink, 2-ring induction hob, fridge, combination microwave and drawers, which contain cutlery, utensils and spare tea towels etc. as well as appliance instructions. Another cupboard, with worktop, houses the crockery and pots and pans etc. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, cereals, a small loaf, butter, jam and marmalade are supplied.
The bedroom has a walk in wardrobe with hanging space and shelves and also houses spare towels, extra blankets and beach towels. There is also a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, fan and vacuum cleaner and laundry bag. In the colder months there is an electric blanket on the bed.
The shower room suite includes a bidet and toiletries are provided.
Free parking is just outside in the drive.

Guest access
The space consists of a large sitting room, with a table and chairs where you can enjoy your meals, a mini-kitchen, double bedroom and shower room, separated from the rest of our house by a chunky door, thus making the area quite private. The little patio outside the sitting room is yours to enjoy - breakfast in the sun!
There is a sofa-bed in the sitting room for more flexible sleeping arrangements.

Other things to note
Access to the entry door is down 3 steps, with a handrail.
Well behaved dogs are very welcome, but please keep them off the furniture. Dog towels and a drinking bowl are provided.
There is no washing machine in the annexe, but I would be happy to wash laundry for you - £5 a load.

Neighbourhood highlights

Ponsanooth, between Truro and Falmouth is close to Penryn where Falmouth University is located. The village has a well run and popular shop/Post Office, winner of the Countryside Alliance Awards 2016 and a cosy pub, The Stag Hunt Inn, with new owners, providing excellent food.

Woodland walks around nearby Kennall Vale are delightful and interesting, only 10 minutes away on foot. It's a nature reserve set in a wooded valley with tumbling streams, and has a fascinating history. A window into Cornwall's industrial past, it was the site of a gunpowder factory, essential for the tin and copper mines in the area. The granite ruins, former water wheels and leats can still be seen. In fact, the main leat runs down from the woods and past our house. At one time there were more than 40 mills along the course of the River Kennall.
