About this listing

The space

Hello! I'm renting a large private guest room in a two bedroom loft. It's located in the best part of trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn – 3 blocks from the Bedford L subway stop, between North 8th and 9th Streets. It's on the 2nd floor of a beautifully maintained, safe loft building that used to be a shirt factory - it has a lot of the unique, real loft building-type detail.

This space is also occupied by me - I'm an interior designer. It's a great for both couples or for people traveling on their own.

Your bedroom: a minimally and tastefully furnished private room with a very comfortable (real) bed. It's located on the opposite end of the 1000 sq ft space from the second bedroom. There are double doors, also with a drape in front of them for privacy and a window above.
-Closets with shelving & sheets, towels
-Track lights, bedside lamp on dimmers
-Wifi, Washer/Dryer
-Huge roof deck, views of Williamsburg Bridge and Manhattan
-Best Williamsburg location- 5 minute walk from Bedford L, 1 stop to East Village (see below), in the middle of all the neighborhood's cool and unique restaurants, bars, music venues
-Easy street parking

The location: When you're going somewhere for a short time, I've always felt that location definitely can make all the difference in how much you enjoy your stay. The Bedford L stop (on North 7th & Bedford Ave) is the main subway station in the heart of Williamsburg - it's one stop, about 5 minutes away from Manhattan's East Village, and 3 stops from Union Square (the center of downtown Manhattan where most trains connect).

You can see the river when you walk out the front door. There's a beautiful park with picnic tables, outdoor concerts, an outdoor flea market and farmer's market with incredibly good food, & a ferry that goes back and forth to Manhattan every 20 minutes – all just a block or two away. It seems like lot of people who come to stay in Williamsburg end up hardly even leaving here! In short, this location is pretty perfect. I look forward to answering any questions.
Thank you! Christina

Christina was the perfect host for my Mom's visit to New York!! Christina's place is neat and with a unique and tasteful decor. She's a true New Yorker, so she's resourceful, knowledgeable and an interesting person to talk to. The room my Mom stayed in has great size, specially within NY standards where everything is normally small and crammed. Christina made a gorgeous scrap book with recommendations of the neighborhood which I find handy and adorable. Her apartment is in the center of Williamsburg, the best neighborhood in New York. Really close to subway and everything... you don't need to ever catch a cab if you stay here. The only inconvenience is that it's very easy to hear your neighbors, so my Mom was awaken every early morning by the upstairs neighbor's heels... but this is New York, and you have to be comfortable with noise, is part of the experience... Communication with Christina was easy, prompt and flawless. I highly recommend her place and without a doubt, my Mom too! Thank you Christina for your warmth and kindness! We truly appreciate it. Christina's listing is true to the description and more: spacious, clean, stylish yet comfortable. From the pottery plates, the fancy kettle and the crystal wine glasses every detail that Christina as picked up for her flat is refined. The bedroom is very well furnished with empty drawers and cupboards but is much more welcoming than the typical AirB&B bedroom. The communication with Christina is clear, prompt and helpful. If you want to stay in Williamsburg, this listing is one to watch for.

Staying with Christina is like staying with your favourite cousin, but cooler. Both she and her home are welcoming. The subway is two blocks away. Williamsburg is hip and in a constant state of flux. I particularly liked the book Christina has put together of places to eat, drink and see, and am particularly grateful that she keeps it up to date. I loved my time at Christina's

Hi, I'm Christina and I look forward to meeting you!
I'm also looking forward to helping make your stay fantastic. I'm an interior designer – and previously worked in management consulting and advertising. I'm really into good food and wine, also love yoga, running and meeting new people. Je parle francias couramment, hablo espanol tambien! I've lived in NYC for about 11 years, so I know Brooklyn and Manhattan well. I'd be happy to be your resource for whatever you want to know or do. Or leave you totally alone - whatever you prefer.
I've lived in Paris for 5 years, Madrid for a year and traveled quite a lot, all over Europe, SE Asia, Australia, South America (one of my best friends lives in Colombia) – so I have a pretty good idea of what works and doesn't when you are away from home! Happy travels. Christina
