About this listing

Just off Upper Street, close to shops, restaurants and pubs, this classic Georgian flat has been restored to mint condition. The 2 bedrooms are on the lower ground floor and the living area is on the ground level, with easy access to the garden.
Sadly we have had to put up our prices in 2017 for the first time in three years to cater for the 90 day restriction on London rentals. As you can see we are superhosts with great reviews - come and stay while the flat is still available!!

Description

The space

The flat has a host of original Georgian features, with two working fireplaces, shutters and windows - it has been fully modernised to give complete comfort. There is one double bed, with access to the garden and the other bedroom has two single beds. There is also a spare mattress which can be used in the room or upstairs if required for an additional charge.
The flat is not suitable for small children, although we will consider having infants who are not yet toddling.
We've just installed a brand new boiler so if you've seen any reviews that give you concerns about the hot water that is now completely fixed and we have piping hot water for showers and baths and a lovely warm space.
Minimum stay is 4 nights.

Guest access

The guests will have complete access to all areas of the flat.

Interaction with guests

The guests will be left to their own devices, with a full list of instructions and recommendations included in the welcome pack. We can be contacted if required by telephone. We will offer a self check in if we cannot be there in person to check you in - I will discuss this with you once you've confirmed your dates.

The neighbourhood

Islington is a vibrant community with everything you need close at hand. The flat's location is superb, with many restaurants, bars and shops within a 5 minute walk. We are a 15 minute walk from Sadler's Wells and less than 5 minutes from the Almeida Theatre. The Business Design Centre is also very close at hand, less than 5 minutes walk away.

Getting around

Angel tube station is less than 10 minutes walk away, the bus stop with a direct connection to Kings Cross and Euston is 4 minutes walk away. Parking is available in the surrounding streets, and we have residents' vouchers available to purchase.

Other things to note

The flat is located downstairs so if you have difficulty with stairs this might be tricky - sadly there is no elevator in an old Georgian building.

James' flat is charming, we spent a delightful stay there. The street is quiet and the neighbourhood full of life, nice shops, pubs and restaurants. To summarize : a great flat and in a fantastic neighbourhood! Thank you James for the organisation,explanations and advices, we appreciated a lot. We hope to come back in the future!

James’ flat is cozy, quiet and incredibly convenient. There is so much within a quick walk, bus ride or tube journey that it’s really the perfect location. Just a few of the places I got to from right outside the flat: Muswell Hill/Alexandra Palace. Dalston. The Barbican. Bloomsbury. St Paul’s Cathedral. The Tate Modern. Ladbroke Grove/Portobello. It is a perfect home away from home, and you won't find a better host than James.

Nice flat on 3 levels. Very secure, great garden views and park over the road. Close to good transport and all the pubs and restaurants you could want. All in all exactly as advertised, and James was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had.

Great place to stay! Super clean and comfortable. Very close to everything, especially the tube. Able to get anywhere in Central within 20 minutes. Great communication with James with an easy check in!

Such a cute place. We love the living room and the backyard. Love the location! So many great restaurants and bars close-by. James was very responsive with my questions. The only thing is the hot water runs out quickly so we had to be super fast with the shower! The bed in the master suit was perfect. The two twin beds in the second bedroom were a little hard for me. But my friends said it was fine for them! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and will definitely recommend it to my friends!

The flat is perfect, tastefully decorated and very cosy with everything you need for a short or longer stay. James is super friendly and easy to deal with, very responsive and his attention to details to make us feel at home didn't go unnoticed (international plug adapters in all the bedrooms, fresh milk and bread on arrival, candles everywhere...). The garden at the back of the house was the cherry on top of the cake, and this despite the bad weather! The flat is also in a great location, if you like to stay away from touristy places and get a taste of local life, you will find great pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and even a renowned theatre in Islington.

James was the perfect host. The communication was excellent and James was especially helpful with arranging our permits for parking locally. The apartment is lovely and is positioned opposite a small park in a quiet residential street. The garden at the rear is also lovely and I would think would make a perfect retreat in summer months ( unfortunately we were there in November!) We were within easy walking distance of great restaurants and many shops. Also it was especially convenient for Islington Design Centre where we were exhibiting. Thank you James for a lovely stay. We will definitely return!
