Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Here at Killaha Holidays we would love to welcome you to our beautifully located large 3 bedroom cabin right on the shore of Kenmare Bay just 2 miles from Kenmare town. Watch the otters, sea birds and wild deer from your deck overlooking the beach. Relax in the outdoor Jacuzzi or inside beside our wood burning stove. A spacious house, secluded and private, it was originally built by my grandparents as a holiday home in the 1950s, now successfully renovated for the 21st century!

The space
Originally built by my grandparents in the 1950s, on the property featured in Harry Bewick's 1930s book 'A Wild Taste'. We have endeavored to bring this historical gem into the 21st century.

Guest access
Situated beside our private beach and slipway, so guests are welcome to bring their own kayaks and other watersport equipment (at their own risk).
Also enjoy our woodland and waterfall walks through acres of ancient Irish woodland

Other things to note
There is an additional charge for electricity. We read the meter at arrival and departure and work out usage as per current electricity prices
We do not offer short stay holidays during the summer months so in July & August the minimum stay is 7 nights.
The cabin is at the bottom of a steep hill. The driveway is gravel at present but will be concreted (covid allowing!!) in October 2020.
Also as the cabin is heated with a wood burning stove, on cold winter days you will need to get a good fire going to heat up the radiators and run the central heating. A big basket of fuel is included in the price.

Where you’ll be

Kenmare, Kerry, Ireland

Quiet and private cabin right by the sea, with otters and deer (and even the occasional sea eagle!) for company!
We also host guests in our off grid glamping sites, Oak Tree and Hazelnut Yurts, situated in our woodland area nearby. The yurts can also be booked through Airbnb.
Kenmare town is 2 miles away but unfortunately the road is not suitable for walking.

An artist based on the Beara Penninsula, I have hosted on Airbnb for many years - providing my family with an income from our cosy yurts or spacious 3 bedroom cabin. Our acres of woodland disguise pre-famine potato ridges, terraced fields and even an old famine road, built in the 1800s to access food from the shore and the beach where we now have our own oyster farm. We have plenty of shellfish growing here in the wild at KillahaHolidays too!
