A peaceful place in the woods where you can get your resting heart rate back. The cabin is located by itself without view from other cabins. You don't have to travel all the way to Sweden to find an idyllic cottage. Many nice hiking opportunities just outside the door. Berry picking and cycling are some of the things you can do here. Possibilities for nice forest baths nearby. Rich animal and bird life. Live simply, close by.

The space
Simple cabin, only one room of 22 sqm with family bunk bed (bed linen must be brought), sofa and kitchenette. There is no running water and electricity in the cabin. The cabin has a gas stove and a very simple solar system for ceiling lights and mobile charging. There is a cooling hatch in the floor for storing food, this keeps a good temperature all year round. Wood-fired fireplace and wood stove. You must bring your own firewood if you rent for more than two nights. Outdoor toilet. New wood-fired sauna with panoramic views over the forest. Spring water that can be used for washing dishes, washing and cooking is located right by the cabin and can be used throughout the year, but we recommend bringing your own drinking water. The road is privately owned by Søndre Elverum forest roads and it costs NOK 80 to drive on it. Own gate the last 200 meters before the cabin. In winter you have to walk the last 200 meters as it is not plowed all the way up to the cabin. Only parking space for one car in winter. In the summer months you can drive all the way up. Own key to open the gate. (further instructions will be given)

Lots of great hiking opportunities in the area. There are many miles of forest car roads around the cabin, these are nice to bike if you have a bike. If you like paddling, Kynnavassdragdrag also is a very good suitable paddle place. Starmoen leisure park is nearby with golf course, airport, racetrack, go-karting and motor center. In winter, Heradsbygda skistadion is not long drive away.
The Norwegian Forestry Museum is also worth a visit. The cottage is 20 minutes away from Elverum city center.
