Perfect heart-of-village location (but not noisy!) with 2 bedrooms plus mezzanine bed on 4 levels with view of the Provence hills. The house is 300 years old but has been renovated with taste and modern amenities. Super comfortable and spacious for 4 guests but with additional charge can accommodate up to 6. Note: cleaning fee is not included in the cost to Airbnb and will include linens use/laundry and a full clean at the end of your stay. Charge depends on season, please inquire.

The space

124 square metres of living space! On ground floor there is the entrance, modern kitchen, and dining area. First floor master bedroom with large double bed, en-suite shower and toilet, second floor with two single beds that can be used together or separately (together they make a very large super-king size bed 180cm wide and 190 cm long) with bath and toilet, double sinks, on the 3rd level the living area with bed/couch (pretty four-poster bed type) tv, small kitchen and bar and three velux windows AND a mezzanine level with extra single size bed. The salon level is super bright and has views stretching out to Carces.

Guests can have access to everything inside the house including two fridges, gas stove, microwave, kettle, iron, hair dryers, free coffee and tea, spices and oils, etc. There is parking just before the house and just after down the road.

A welcome introduction on arrival not taking more than 15 mins, but otherwise no interaction as we will be staying elsewhere (10 mins drive ) away in case needed.

The village is very special and it's absolutely stunning. For more info on Cotignac, see: (URL HIDDEN) or go to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (URL HIDDEN) for lots of photos of the village and the surrounding areas.

You'll need a car or at least someone to bring you to the village. If you stay in the village you won't need transport. You can walk everywhere.

Kids welcome. Security/damage deposit of 100 euros taken upon arrival (cash only please) and returned after property check on departure date.

Other things to note

The house has been renovated very well and is well appointed. It can get a bit hot in the upper rooms as there is no air-con, although some fans were provided. The roads round about are very narrow and parking can be a problem - we had to pay for a taxi to attend one event because we didn't want to get back at midnight and fine we couldn't park. The town centre is within easy walking distance, although the hill can be a bit steep on the way back.

A lovely house very close to the centre of town. Even though it was really warm outside the house stayed nice and cool. Susana was very welcoming. Definitely a nice stay!

This is a lovely house in Cotignac. Everything is really well kept, tidy and tastefully furnished. Susana has been an amazing hostess and made sure we found our way to the house with great directions and kept messaging us to make sure everything was OK. We loved our stay there. The things we want to emphasise are that we have a young child and the top and second floor have gates which you can close to stop children going downstairs, which was a bonus for us and it's also a short walk into the centre of Cotignac to the shops and restaurants which is convenient. Things to note, parking is a little difficult to find nearby and the village streets can be narrow and steep. Therefore I advise you don't drive too big a car to get there and be confident negotiating tight gaps. We would happily stay there again and recommend it as a great base for a family to travel around Provence.

Susana was excellent in terms of communication and provided very thorough directions on how to find her property. The house itself has been beautifully restored across 4 floors and all rooms were very spacious. We had an issue with one of the toilets during our stay but Susana resolved it very promptly. There was also a damp smell coming from the cellar. I am sure this would of been resolved by keeping the windows open but unfortunately we had all reacted badly by mosquito's bites so this was not possible for us! A little thing to bear in mind is that you are expected to leave 45 Euros for the cleaner which we were only informed of when we arrived.
