Augusto was easy to communicate with and his flat was clean and comfortable.
The apartment is located outside the main tourist areas (~15min walk north of St Peter's Square). He keeps an office there, so is around during the workday. This made it very convenient to schedule a very flexible arrival since we were arriving after noon on a weekday. We were out exploring Rome during the day, so we only saw Augusto on the first and last days (we returned mid-day the last day to get his help printing our boarding passes - very helpful!). Augusto was quiet but warm and welcoming on our arrival.
The apartment is on the third floor, so expect to carry your luggage up and down two flights of stairs. We pack lightly so it wasn't an issue for us.
The shower water temperature does have a tendency to go between hot and cold, which seems to be a common problem in all the AirBnB rentals in the area.
For those sensitive to night noise, the street is quiet during the day but then weirdly really loud at night (large trucks stopping in front of the apartment, garbage bins across the street). We slept with the bedroom windows shut so the constant random banging wouldn't wake us up.
The wifi was totally fine while we were there. Probably one of the perks of Augusto working out of the apartment - very reliable Internet access!
We ended up not using the kitchen other than refilling water bottles, but it looked small but serviceable. No dining/living rooms so you would have to eat in the bedroom or maybe standing at the sink.
If you are looking for a clean, affordable apartment in the area around Vatican City/the Metro with a good host, this seems like a fine place for you to rent.
