Come out to a judgement free safe zone set up in the Tropics of Honduras. Located in a traditional Garifuna village of Sambo Creek. This portal is being set up for families and individuals who want to come out and have their own healthy experience in the mountains, beach and river while being amongst like minded people who want to live a healthier life style. The Plant based Nomads of Sol Center has 3 homes (1 open for Airbnb right now) , building a gym, a game room w/ outdoor living space.

The space
With the mountains, beach and river all in 15 min walking distance their is plenty access to the jungle wild life. There is always some type of celebration at the beach on the weekends and plenty of eating spots along the beach. Also there are zip lining, mud baths, tours to local islands and a major city ( La Ceiba) about 30 min away.

Where you’ll be

Sambo Creek, Atlántida Department, Honduras

The family environment of the Garifuna village provides an everyone knows everyone atmosphere. The children play outside and the locals are curious to meet new comers. They are very welcoming. The high vibrational environment makes for a great experience when visiting. Spanish and garifuna speaking mostly, there are a few that speak English to help translate.

Kevin Perkins, father of three; is a certified mental health behavioral specialist, youth sports coach and African centered home school teacher. Brother Kevin is a product of many youth activities he participated in as a boy that helped mold him into the caring and adventurous man he is now. As a youth he participated in programs such as: Boys Rites of Passage at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in 3rd Ward Houston, Boy Scouts, youth sports and martial arts. After studying Mechanical Engineering at Prairie View A&M University and carefully reevaluating his life goals, Kevin decided to follow in his parents footsteps of teaching and coaching for a fulfilling and rewarding life. From this realization, Kevin went on to work at his hometown highschool Alief Taylors AVID PROGRAM to help assist teachers with building up the character and future goals of the students. Self motivated from that rewarding opportunity​ Kevin then created with his wife, Walking Truth a family business focused on mending the commmunity mentally, emotionally and physically. Nomads Of Sol Center was also inspired by Brother Kevin. Kevin successfully pursued teaching, tutoring and mentoring the youth full-time in Texas, California and eventually opened the doors to travel to Cameroon Africa, Belize, Honduras and various Central American countries. Since the passing of his son in 2013, Kevin has become a huge contributor to bridging the communication gap between the youth and elder generations staying ever vigilant in preparing the youth for an ever changing society. As well motivating other in a healthy lifestyle.

During your stay

When at Nomads of Sol I am make myself available for questions, tours and any maintenance that may be needed. Other guest occupying the open homes will be able to interact with each other if wanting, or return to the private space of your home. We also have a fruit guy that comes by through out the week, which you are more than welcome to purchase fruit from.
