The Windy Ridge Retreat is a rustic cabin that is tucked away on a beautiful ridge. It is secluded and cozy.
A short drive will take you to rivers, hiking, beaches, trout streams to fish, canoe, boating, tubing and shopping.
Many nice areas around us to sight see or just sit back and relax.

The space
Windy Ridge Retreat sits on a ridge top in Southwest Wisconsin. It is secluded with pasture, woods and fields next to it.
It is common to see wildlife while visiting.
This is the place for anyone looking for relaxation. Leave the hustle and bustle, bring your food and enjoy.
The cabin does not have running water or electricity, although there is a porta potty, electric outlet and water hydrant outside the cabi(not potable).
Towels, linens, dishes, chairs, pots and pans, charcoal grill, and utensils are furnished.
There is a campfire area. There is wood provided for the fire pit. We supply enough for a campfire each night of the stay.
You access the property via a township road. The road is accessible by UTV also. You can travel to many places via UTV.
There are some really nice state parks within a short drive.
Let us know If you would like to see our horses, beef cattle, goats and sheep on our other farm half mile away.
We are located in the driftless area of southwest Wisconsin. Our rolling hills and valleys are beautiful.
You will find establishments in our area. Just a few include, cafes, coffee house, supper clubs, bowling alleys, move theater and shops to visit.
We have Amish in our community. They have produce and handmade sales a few miles away.
There are local canoe rentals.
We are located 75 miles west of Madison, WI

Guest access
This cabin is located in the country. For the safety of the guests and our animals, no one is to go in shut gates or over fences. The landscape away from the cabin is rough and not groomed.

Other things to note
In the spring or if there has been a lot of rain, the driveway can be muddy at times.
In the winter, we plow daily, if needed, but the driveway can drift some. 4 Wheel drive is recommended in the winter.

Neighbourhood highlights

Fennimore and Boscobel are very friendly and welcoming small towns. Great eating and unique shops are located in both. Bring your UTV/ATV and drive from the cabin to the trails, Access state snowmobile trails from the cabin, Class 1 trout streams are within a few miles away and the Wisconsin River is within 6 miles. The Grant river is a short drive for tubing and canoeing. There is a golf course waiting just a few miles from the cabin.
There is a lot of sightseeing to do in our area.

Jason and I like outdoor activities. We enjoy taking family vacations (sometimes with our horses) and renting vacation homes while we stay. That has inspired us to start the Driftless Lodge, expanding with the Windy Ridge Retreat, The Den and Homestead. We own my family's 4th generation 180 acre farm. Jason and I raise beef cattle, paint and quarter horses and grow crops. We want to share our place with others looking to get a way and enjoy the outdoors.
